Time for Brandon Loyd to step it up
He had a great game yesterday. Made some huge plays.
Let’s hope Phonz can get it going as returner… I’d rather see Eddie concentrate on offense.
I wonder if Hamilton will get the start?
Or will this be Seth Olson’s job to lose?

lets see who we manage to sign
mitch erickson may be promoted or we may sign a street free agent at guard…slim pickings out there. KLich might get resigned, as he is still available. Pat Murray, who was in town for training camp is on CLEs developmental squad…he would have to be signed straight to the active roster though, so I don’t see him being more valuable than a guy like Licks Ten Tigers. Schlueter, another camp guy, is on the ATL developmental squad, and if Hamilton is starting, we may be looking at needing to bring in a C flex player…
There isn’t a lot of experience out there to be had, and with the likes of Incognito and Maurice Williams not getting a sniff from the Broncos (of course, they went to Buffalo and DET respectively, so there may have been waiver priority granted…), chances are, we will look at a young guy if we bring in another G/C.
At WR we can promote Willis, and there are a ton of good WRs out there on developmental squads, and lots of experience out on the street. Lots of options at WR. One in particular is big Nate Swift…6’2" 203, and the Broncos liked him enough to make him a part of their huge CFA class this year. He has returned punts as well, so he may be worth another look….

forgot to mention that Swift made it to Jacksonville's practice squad
so it would be straight to the 53 for him….

isnt it the only option anyhow?
is there any point in signing a player to practice squad with one game left in regular season ? if he is not activated for the last game, what is the value of having him on ps

constant need to address depth
Xanders consistently seems to target roster numbers: this many WRs that many DL, these many LBs… We have a good stable of WRs, but you keep the depth available for those times (like yesterday) where you start to get thin, but also so that you are developing talent on a constant basis. Losing a WR to IR is a good indication we will bring a WR in, but if we promote Willis (he has been practicing in the scheme, which not many of the vets available have been) then we could be looking at replacing him on the PS.
It really depends on who is available and who they like. With a little luck, the move needs to be just as solid for a team with one more game to play as it does for a team that is going to the playoffs. Signing a guy to the 53 who can’t contribute in the playoffs would be a waste, so bumping a PS player is possible.
We can look at Carter as an example of promoting a player to fill valuable roster depth, but his scenario is somewhat different, in that we were lucky to stash him on the PS for as long as we did. Willis is a little different, with not quite the upside that Carter had, but with no word on his development since training camp, who knows? WR was not a particularly strong shopping area in the NFL last offseason, compared to other areas, but I trust that the Broncos didn’t feel he was significantly below their standards.

sayre brought up Chad Jackson in another thread
definitely could be added to the mix, in fact, I would consider him the lead horse for the job….

I could see bringing Kory Lichtensteiger back
He is still a Cap Hit ($371,000) anyway.
Character may be manifested in the great moments but it is made in the small ones -- Philip Brooks
good point Kap
I don’t think McXanders makes a habit out of chasing sunk costs (by literally doubling down in this scenario), but if they like hima nd want him back, that would be icing on the cake! Especially if he can show a little something something. Another plus is that he was released from the Vikes, so he could be signed to the PS if they wanted to promote Erickson instead…
My kingdom to find out if Seth Olsen has been practicing at center at all…

Whomever we sign...
he’s certainly no Tatum Bell (and that, makes me feel like we are moving in the right direction).
Will Erickson get called up?
That would at least add some depth to the line or Batiste maybe or both….or they pull the line seems to be the area of most need….WR corp looks fine Stockley back and Eddie ready to play…..

the should say or they pull from elsewhere as the line seems to be the area of most need.
