Berger Factor Noted
As I said here Mitch has been a very good influence on Matt. Now this courtesy of Chres Gentilviso's story on Matt:
Since Berger took over the team’s holding duties, Prater has converted all seven of his field goal attempts. He was far from shy about what the 16-year veteran has added to the kicking equation.
“I’m super confident in him,” Prater said. “When I line up I don’t ever have to think about the hold, which (former Broncos punter) Brett (Kern) was good at too. But Mitch has been doing it so long. He kicked as well so he gives me little pointers here and there on kicking, too.”

16 yard punt......
Put two-three good games together in a row and then I’ll reconsider. lol

Last game showed he still can
Were the others due simply to being rusty? What do we get in the future. Because he can does not mean he will.
Dude...16 yard punt! he also had a 20 yard punt.
I need a few more good games to erase those two punts from my mind………… lol

Before we throw the berger out with the bath water, consider this:
25 punts for an average of 43.5 yards per punt
7 punts of over 50 yards (28%)
1 punt of over 60 yards (4%)
1 touchback (4%)
6 inside the 20 (24%)
5 fair catches (20%)
5 downed by the Broncos (20%)
3 out of bounds (12%)
11 returns for 108 yards or an average of 9.8 yards/return
The three short punts (26, 24, 16):
2 came in the Pittsburgh game (26 & 24)
1 came in the Washington game (16)
The opponents’ drives following all three of those punts ended in the opposing team punting.

Pray for the best, prepare for the worst, and know you will come down somewhere between the two.

Hey
I was calling for his head after these … went so far as to volunteer my services. What he did on Thursday is show enough that he should be given a chance. Will continue to produce to that level … or will those old cobwebs creep backin.
A veterans presence can't do no harm for Prater.
A guy comes out of semi-retirement to punt for the Broncos…give him a few more kicks before we give him the “BOOT”…OK?
