Parody or Charity: Media Hones in on Wrong Topics

Readers,

I have officially ditched my title as the "Causal SB Nation Browser" and have decided to mail it in to jump start my blogging career through my observations of pop culture and its affects on the Sports Culture.  As we all know Tiger has been under center through Tiger vision that he would prefer to avoid.

What started as a accident (that would have gone unnoticed had it been anyone else) has grown into a ET media frenzy full of speculation and "shame shame" rhetoric.  Tiger has consistently been in the limelight for his on and off the course achievements but has never generated so much media hype.  In the past, TW has upheld the reputation that many parents expect pro athletes to carry out in their daily lives.  Through his career he has done just that, partnering with Federer and Jeter to carry out careers dedicated to professionalism and an overt passion to how their professions affect the lives of millions.  Their sponsors not only play a huge part in their professional lives but also reach out through their philanthropic efforts.

Although he has consistently improved our society through his sport, these efforts have vanished in an instant through ET reports and US Weekly covers.  The actual happenings behind his dealings with these women may not come out in their entirety (which they shouldn't); however, he will always carry that black spot on his back and his play will no longer be the top story for tournaments to come.  Tigers brand of purity and philanthropy will be scathed and will take some time to heal.

Please do not take this short blip as a defense for Tigers actions as they are wrong and should not be condoned.  What I am saying is that the affects could be far greater if the media would focus/support what the image of Tiger was about and eventually return to.  Strive to be the best and use your true talents to serve other institutions and causes for he has truly championed this point.

Take a moment to look into his dealings in life that matter and not those that will fade tomorrow.

Poll
Will these accusations shadow/hinder Tigers reputation for the remainder of his career?
I think it will linger for a while but will not be permanent.

Seriously

I dont care what he does. I think the MSM is so misplaced on concentrating on his image. Its funny all my friends dont care what he did, and we all agree that this doesnt affect his image. He is a golfer, and this “transgression” will go over when the next big name does something stupid (it will happen in 3. . . 2. . . 1. . . ). I remember when Giambi aopologized foe doing something illegal. He never admitted it, and it blew over. I sure didnt see any Rox fan boycotting him when he was signed. Heck teams went after Pettite after he admitted his steriods. This country gives out second chances when you admit guilt. He may not have admitted exactally what he did, but we all know it. Its the media who cares more about it than the real Americans. We use sports as a distraction and when the media makes Tiger a huge issue it turns fans off the media. (well at least to me it does that)

Can you add - Tiger is a scumbag

Or just politely – I don’t give a damn. lol

Or – His wife should have beaten him to a bloody pulp

After all, I wouldn’t respect my wife if she didn’t bludgeon me for cheating on her as I am sure I wouldn’t mind bludgeoning her for cheating on me. Ohh..was that taboo? My wife and I have an understanding…we don’t cheat. lol

I really haven't delved into this

to even see what the real story is. The most I have heard is that the media “allegedly claims” he had an affair. The only thing that is absolute is that he wrecked his car. Was he drunk, or was this alleged mistress’ face in his lap while he drove? I neither know nor care. The media puts too much attention on items they can exploit and most of their stories are not useful to the human race. It is not the worlds business what Tiger Woods does.

This is kinda like Bill Clinton...

…when he gets reviled for petty sex things (a private matter, you’re damn right) when he should be reviled for those he chums with (a very public matter, those [Chevron] endorsements/partnerships).

I’m glad he stood up for his right to privacy [in private matters] in his press release though.

Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.

Socrates was once executed for 'trolling'.
^Needs explaining: don't call someone asking uncomfortable, slightly antagonistic questions trolls. In all odds they probably just want to learn. It's real easy to differentiate a 'Socratic' post from a trolling one (unless you're a resident of WCG).
^Needs further explaining: I have yet to post anything on WCG, don't worry, I'm not trying to rationalize anything I've done. I've just lurked over there and man, they are the model of post-peloponnesian war Athens.
