Don Banks Mixes It Up

Don Banks released his post combine mock draft today. Normally, I don't get all hyped up about mocks that come before free agency, but his broke the norm (at least for the MSM) a little bit.

He has Aaron Curry going #1 overall (which would be a damn fine pick by the Lions).

This causes Stafford to fall all the way to San Fran at #10 (which is strange because he has Sanchez at #8 with the Jags).

Rey, Raji, Orakpo, Maybin, and Jenkins going before #12.

He has the Broncos taking Brian Cushing and says:

"As they join the crowd and switch to the 3-4 defensive formation, the Broncos look to be beyond the range of many of their most prized targets, like Curry, Arakpo, Raji, Jenkins and Maybin. We're giving them Cushing, but don't forget about his fellow ex-Trojans outside linebacker, Clay Matthews, who came out of combine week with a sense of momentum behind him."

Personally, I think if it came to this, Denver might trade down. I like Cushing, but not at #12. Maybe Banks is reading MHR because I know there have been a few posts saying we"ll take Cushing.

Right now, I just trying to remember that mocks mean nothing and they mean even less before free agency. Everything could chage in a week.

Trade Down

If they can’t get Raji or Jenkins Denver should trade down. An extra 2nd round pick would help the team out more than any of the other players (except maybe Moreno, but I’d prefer a bigger back)

Trade down and snag Moreno, who is now a ridiculous value in the lower third of the first round.

I agree that they sould trade down if Rey M is not there, I don’t think his combine will affect him at all, look at the tape he is a beast. If he is not there along with Raji then go ahead and trade down, get another 2nd round pick the LB class is deep and good Backer will be available in the 2nd. I can’t remember his namr but the kid out of Cincinatti looks very good

I think in this scenerio we trade down

Again, if Andre Smith falls, there will be some buyers for him at 12, I think Cushing maybe a little overrated at 12, much better value to trade down.
