CBS 4
It all started a little over a week ago when I recieved at text alert from CBS 4 in Denver that "The Broncos are trying to actively trade Jay Cutler". Odd right? Since I had just been watching the NFL Network and heard Schefter say that the Broncos had been contacter but were not actively shopping Cutler. So I log onto their site and nowhere in the article does it say anything about actively trying to trade Cutler, despite what the text alert said - it was just a reiteration of what Shefter had said.
Just now I got another text alert saying that "Cutler and team have spoken, but issues remain." Uh oh, right? So I log on to CBS4Denver.com to see what those issues were... Nothing concrete was listed. Just that they spoke on the phone and that McD reminded Cutler that he was the coach and that players would be subject to evaluation at all times concerning the goal of winning in Denver...
Message to CBS4 - Stop trying to make this situation look worse than it is. I understand that when you send out those alerts people flock to your site, but you lose credibility when you embellish what the facts are. Further, incindeary and half true alerts don't make the situation better. You are on ground zero for covering the Broncos, the MSM takes queues from you and could rake us through the coals like we expeienced last week.
I suspect this is the work of Vic Lombardi. He seems like the kind of guy that would ask your wife over this place right in front of you... Smarmy kinda guy... hmmm...
I'm too sensitive over all this, but what gives?!

cant stand the MSM
its not like this is the first time the spin stories out of control, it happen pretty much everyday!!! why cant the press be like MHR?
24-24 doesn't win championships
The reason
“why cant the press be like MHR?” is that we want all the good fans here at MHR rather than MSM.
Victor Frankl:
What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
yeah. i just wish they could take something from us...
cuz we actually know what we’re talking about
24-24 doesn't win championships
well, honesty doesn't sell
quite like spin does.

Uh.
The MSM is JUST like MHR. We have a ton of people on here acting like god damn drama queens left and right and bawwwwwwing all over the place and people have been taking sides every step of the way. Sounds a lot like the media, to me. But eh, what the hell do I know?

Figured I would follow up
since I posted before finishing my thought (computers, neh?). Through this whole ordeal, the MAJORITY of MHR has been swinging back and forth with every little morsel of news. Only a tiny faction of people have tried to remain “calm” throughout and just let things play out before freaking out too much. Like I said, it sounds just like the MSM to me. We just all happen to love the Broncos.

In game theory it's called a prisoner's dilemma...
at some level I think they all know that this game of crying wolf is a losing game. But no one can afford to be the first to quit playing it. So the keep trying to outdo each other while the fans get burned out and disillusioned and sites like MHR thrive.
Let’s face it, who of us didn’t let out a whoop whoop (at least inside) when you found MHR.
I was a Broncos fan before Jay or Josh were even born...
I’ll still be a fan long after they’ve both left the organization.

Smarmy is kind.
Lombardi is far and away one of the most annoying talking heads on the Denver scene. For me it’s a toss-up between Vic and Bobble-Head Soicher as to whom I can tolerate less. His incessant gesticulating drives me insane. A close buddy of mine and I have pondered what Lombardi would do if he woke up in a bathtub full of ice, perhaps somewhere in Vegas, and discovered that someone had amputated his hands. My hope would be that he would retire, but I’m afraid they’d just outfit him with claws and he’d look even more ridiculous waving them in front of the camera when he speaks.
Obviously the local media is guilty of sensationalizing each and every tidbit of news in a transparent effort to drive viewership. However, if there is any truth to the rumor that in the past week Cutler has failed to return two of Mr. Bowlen’s calls then, gentle friends, the excrement may indeed be heading inexorably towards the fan. Let us hope this is not the case. There have already been rumblings that the owner was displeased by Cutler’s actions after the firing of Shanahan was announced—Jay’s declaration of disappointment and subsequent public absence. If Mr. Bowlen did place not one, but two calls to Cutler in an attempt to establish dialogue and Jay refused to return either call, that action could easily be interpreted by ownership as rank insubordination. This could yet get very ugly, and I’m beginning to worry that we’ll see the resolution April 25th. The fact that Bus Cook represents Cutler, in my opinion, may not bode well. I was exceptionally unimpressed by the way Cook handled the Favre saga last year.

Love this... +1
I think Gary Miller could do well on his own. Out of curiosity, anyone know what’s up with Reggie Rivers and the gambling ring? Weird hunh?
Brings new meaning to KOA’s segement “Rolling with Rivers”, hunh?

Gambling Ties with East Coast Mafia
I was rather surprised to hear about Rolling Reggie’s alleged involvement. I remember thinking that if there was any KCNC employee I wished that had a large debt to the East Coast Mob that it would be Lombardi, because my dream of having his hands removed might become a reality! I always liked Reggie as a Bronco, and I hope no one takes off his thumbs.
