After weeks of waiting and some speculation on his status, LDT has signed a three year contract with the San Diego Chargers (story here). Terms were not immediately released, but the restructure will save the Chargers for an unmanageable cap hit and reunite Tomlinson with young speedster Darren Sproles. After weeks of public disagreement, the two sides agreed to quietly negotiate their deal, an agreement broken only by Tomlinson's mother publicly accusing the Bolts of disrespecting her son.
The Chargers also managed to bolster their linebacking corps, signing former Cowboys linebacker and special teams ace Kein Burnett (story here).Burnett comes from the 3-4 system run by Phillips, who installed a previous version when he was with San Diego. The Chargers expect a quick and seamless transition to their squad.
