Broncos looking to trade RBs?
Matt Bowen is claiming that the Broncos are trying to dump their RBs Peyton Hillis, Ryan Torain and Selvin Young. On Torain and Young, I wouldn’t blame them, but Hillis is a head-scratcher. Even if you don’t accept that he’s a talented running back (and I would make an argument that he is), he’s a either a good FB, good H-back. Potentially, though, he’s a heck of a talent at receiving the ball out of the backfield and running between the tackles, two things that McDaniels did at length in NE. Bowen hasn’t always been an accurate source, though, so take this one with a grain of salt

Ok...but this rumor is on a round about....
This was reported by the DP a few days ago, and now NFP is siting their source as the DP. In the DP article, there was no mention of who the players were.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves……I think McDaniels sees Hillis as a H Back/ FB so it would probably leave him out. We wont get anything for Selvin Young or Ryan Torain…..NOTHING!
Those that cant coach, compete!

More MSM mis-information!!
If you read the actual DP story there is no discussion of which RBs Denver may be trying to trade.

I will write McD off for good if he gets rid of Hillis.
That wouldn’t make any sense. But that has been his MO since arriving in Denver.

If Culter, Hillis, and Scheffler are all traded, I'm abandoning this team.
I’m serious. I’ll start following again once the current regime is ousted for someone who knows what the hell they’re doing.

Gosh...why don't we trade the whole team away. Nobody on the team is safe. You would think that we would try to trade our defensive players not our offensive players!
What I want the Broncos to do before the start of next season:
1) Improve the defense drastically.
2) Improve terms with Jay Cutler.
3) Talk Jay into firing Bus Cook as his agent.
4) Sign Torry Holt to a 1 year deal.
Let's go BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY! Some conspiracy not involving Jay Cutler...
we need to make this a bigger story. Let’s spread it far and wide people. I want to hear about this rumor for the next 4 weeks!!!!!

If this report is true,
it’s just a little more chin music, imo. These guys (McXanials) are not playing around. By the time they hit the pracitce fields at Dove Valley in late July, no player will feel secure in their jobs or doubt the veracity of thier new young coach/GM.

It's all based on this statement from the DP:
Running back for trade.
Two NFL executives say the Broncos have been asking teams if they are interested in acquiring one of their running backs. It makes sense after the Broncos signed three free-agent tailbacks: Correll Buckhalter, J.J. Arrington and LaMont Jordan.
The Broncos’ holdover running backs who can be had for trade: Selvin Young, Ryan Torain and Peyton Hillis.
This is just a guy trying to fill space by blowing crap out of his you know what!

I'm not worried
They’re putting people up on the block seeing what is out there. If they get an offer that’s worth it and will improve the team they’ll go for it. If not, they won’t.
Fans fall in love with players but the team has to put itself in a position to acquire the best options possible and that means exploring everything. Either Hillis will be back and compete for a spot on the roster – which he can surely earn – or we’ll get something worthwhile in compensation for him.
Either way I think it will work out.

I remember what Peyton said
“I am the low guy on the totem pole so I will go out and earn my job.” That’s all. I think Peyton Hillis is a beast of a player. I think he was a steal in the 7th round and will preform very well. I would be interested (if someone has the time I don’t currently) to see how much guff Raheem Morris and Steve Spagnola are getting. I know Morris got blasted for his releases early on but due to the cutler situation I haven’t seen anything on him. I think a lot of this has to do with McDaniels as a rookie coach. he is going to get a lot of press for wiping his butt because no one has ever seen him doing it. I wouldn’t worry too much.

I was checking out the TB papers
Morris is getting grief for not making the Cutler trade happen. Ironic no!

The last sentence in the DP article should have read
“The Broncos’ holdover running backs are Selvin Young, Ryan Torain and Peyton Hillis.” That leaves open the question of which ones McDaniels considers expendable. The author wrongly assumes that all of the holdovers are being shopped. Nothing in the report, which refers only to “one of their running backs,” justifies that assumption. Sloppy reporting/thinking.
