The National Football League on Monday announced the Denver Broncos' 2009 preseason schedule, which features home games against the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals as well as road contests against the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
The Broncos open their preseason at San Francisco (Aug. 13-17) and play their first home game of the preseason on NBC's Sunday Night Football against Chicago on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. MDT at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Denver also visits Seattle in its second preseason game (Aug. 20-24) and hosts defending NFC-champion Arizona on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. MDT in its preseason finale.
Exact dates and times for Denver's entire preseason schedule will be announced in April. CBS 4 (KCNC-TV) will produce and broadcast all of Denver's preseason games with the exception of its Sunday Night Football game against the Bears.
Celebrating their 50th season in 2009, the Broncos own a 121-104 (.538) all-time record in the preseason. Denver, which was 2-2 in the preseason last year, has registered at least a .500 record in the preseason during 13 of the last 14 seasons and is 11-5 (.688) in exhibition play since 2005.
The NFL will release the Broncos' complete 2009 regular-season schedule in April.
