So, where does Jay Cutler go next year?? Take the Poll!!

If I had to bet, I'd say Jacksonville. I think they'd deal the #8 overall for a solid starting QB...something David Garrard couldn't prove he was this year.

My second thought would be Tampa Bay as they were supposedly involved in the first place. Perhaps it was a self-serving move for the Bucs to leak the news....news they knew Bus Cook would use to leverage Cutler out of Denver. And yes, I'm that cynical.

So, what does everyone think? Take the poll and leave your thoughts.

Also, would you prefer either of the two reported first round QB's to run the Bronco offense in 2009? Personally, I think Stafford is going #1 overall to Detroit, leaving Sanchez as the available QB (maybe/maybe not at #8). Or would the Broncos take a QB in return such as Brady Quinn or David Garrard?

Easiest way to forget Cutler....

…is to get into position to land Mark Sanchez.

by PredominantlyOrange on Mar 31, 2009 9:05 PM MDT reply actions

Yep....

Simms plays, Sanchez sits for a year and learns….we still have opur 12, get Detroits 20th and 33rd and next years 1st. Next draft, we take Man Mountain Cody and Taylor mays…bring it on.
This is going to galvanize our team…mark my words!

I'm not optimistic

I say Detroit is a no. I have a feeling they are going to go for Stafford.
No to NYJ. Coach Ryan will go with Clemens. I don’t see him as a fan of a cocky QB.
No to Cleveland. They have 2 solid QB’s. They don’t need Jay.

The only team that really sticks out to me is Tampa. And I’m not excited about what they could offer.

So…we’ll see. Hopefully it won’t be another 8years to find a QB.

Nice take Fiver and I agree...hope it does not take 8 years...

But I do like upside of Simms. I like him more than Plummer or Griese and think he might surprise.
Do you see Arizona maybe? Would we go after Leinart?

Drafting QB on Day 2

I agree that Simms has upside. I think he’ll be able to run the offense ok enough this upcoming year – and maybe beyond. From there, isn’t it the Patriot Way to take a QB who was a late round draft pick and turn him into a star? Maybe we select someone on Day 2 like Graham Harrell from Texas Tech or Mike Teel from Rutgers and groom him to be a franchise QB. Maybe, just maybe it won’t take another 8 years.

I don't know about Leinart

Don’t forget that Leinart was dogged by the Cardinal staff for having a poor work ethic. I don’t think they would want to take that on.

If jay can't love us as Fans, and can't try to mend the problems....

then jay is headed for oblivion. There is not a greater fan base in the NFL than in those who love the Denver Broncos. If jay doesn’t get that then jay doesn’t understand the special gifts God has given him…nor the knowledge of what to do with those gifts. If jay gets traded I will not consider McDonkey faultless..

I hate it when gut feelings come true…let’s hope they don’t….josh is McDonkey until he isn’t…

No La La Land here………this situation is not good for our team…………

I am very sad

OMG

Really Sims has a upside? I thought that got removed 2 years ago. There is no upside here gentleman. There are 3 other guys in the last two seasons with Cutlers stats, Jay is also 12-1 when the defense allows under 20 points! Maybe we should have never been in this position if a rookie coach who is unproven wasn’t hired and basically set the franchise back 8 more years. We finally get a mobile hard throwing qb and one baby faced idiot has to come in and ruin it. Jay will do to Tampa, the bronco’s will get Brady Quinn from the Browns in a three way trade, and in NO WAY will Bowlen let them trade Jay to a AFC team, he is afraid to meet him in games and maybe playoffs, oh oops Denver won’t be in any of those for years. We shall see, however I predict a real down year for the Bronco’s and probably a few more to come, since they hired a coach who thinks the way this idiot does.

Thoughts?

Trade Cutler to Carolina for Delhomme and Peppers. I’m sure Carolina would enjoy the salary cap relief and get rid of a disgruntled DT. We’ll probably end up with Quinn and Rogers since McDaniels loves all things Patriot. Quinn grew up in the Weis program and has shown some flashes of competence. I don’t think he’ll be too bad given our quality O-line. If we had a good defense we could go with Simms to manage the game but we are a season or two off from that.
