Hmmm...
Odd. I don’t hate Kiper’s mock for us… I much prefer it over Bank’s first round.

Looks like the pompadour has actually put thought into how the team runs
It’s one thing to like the guy’s picks. It’s another to realize that he’s thought about the schemes, the Pats-like player preferences, etc. Not that there’s any merit to it. Mock drafts are a particularly dirty and ungratifying form of crack cocaine.

hah
I had the same reaction. “What have you done with the real Mel Kiper?” I like those top 3 players a lot. Though I would still be a little surprised to see the Broncos go DE with first 2 picks. But not too surprised.

Everette Brown would be OLB in the 3-4
So we’re not actually talking about two DE picks. He’s the kind of angry freak-athlete the Pats types get into. I can really see him landing on the Broncs.

Good point
I really like him so I’d be tickled if that worked out.

Peria Jerry would be awesome
If we ran a 4-3

Enjoy the time off.
The hysterics from Drew Litton are honestly hilarious. Setting the franchise back to 1964? What lofty peak, exactly, are we falling from? It’s sad to see someone I fundamentally like reach the “hey kids, get off my lawn” phase of his career.

Imagine
how freaked out he’ll feel this coming season when he turns on TV and sees the Broncos wearing their throwback jerseys and socks (for one of the turn back the clock games). Then he’ll either shake his crotchety fist or have a stroke.

Thanks for the tracks!
After reading the Mike Rice transcription of his interview with Josh McDaniels I felt compelled to bring attention to one of McDaniel’s responses that, imho, demonstrated he gets “it”. A breath of fresh air if you ask me.
KOA: As you sit here today, can you make the case that your team is better than the team you inherited when you took the job?
JM: There are a lot of things that go into that. We’ve had a pretty drastic roster makeover. We have 15 or 16 new players and there’s going to be another eight, 10, 12 additional draft choices. The only answer for that is we’ll see in September. Winning is a production business. It’s all about winning and I know that. That’s what I care about. I’ve been used to doing that for eight years in New England and that’s what I’m going to try to bring here. I know this: There’s a million ways to win in this league. You don’t win the same way every week and it’s not one player that’s going to make or break one team. I’ve been on teams where we’ve scored 36 points a game and didn’t win the Super Bowl. And I’ve been on a team where we scored 19 points a game and we did win the Super Bowl. My big thing is we’re going to improve the TEAM. Like I mentioned, there’s a million things that we can address offensively, defensively and in the kicking game. To me, if we improve in those three phases, you have a chance to be a better team.

Grade Him by His Wins
Hey, I agree. Let’s grade him by his wins. No excuses. He is paid to make the big decisions and take responsibility for them.

Let's be glad he understands that!
At least it appears that McDaniels is willing to do whatever it takes.
A thought just occurred to me. Think about where McDaniels will stack up against other all-time coaches if he does win and keeps coaching. He could easily coach for 30 years before he retires. I know I am getting ahead of myself, but think of what kind of coaching career he could end up with starting out so young!
I know we’ve heard it before but it is all about turning the potential into W’s baby!

Bills Parrish on the trading Block!
First off, NYC you always do an awesome job on Horse Tracks-Thank you for your time and talents.
If I were a GM I would be willing to part with a 3rd round selection for Parrish. He is a game changer and we could always use the depth at wide receiver, espcially if Marshall misses a game or 2. This would also free up Royal to specialize in the WR position that he excelled at last year! Thoughts?

Thanks, FBDC
Appreciate the kind words. Personally, I think a #3 would be a very high price to pay for someone like Parrish. 3rd-rounders generally bring back starters. I do like your thinking, though – we definitely need to improve our return game, and Royal shouldn’t be putting himself in harm’s way by returning. He’s too valuable as a WR.

We have JJ Arrington for that...so I see no need for Parrish at that cost!
