Here's my OFFICIAL 7 round mock. It is more of a suggestion than a prediction - i.e. here's what I would do were I McXanders. I don't think Raji will be there and I would be 100% fine if we took Rey (if he's there, which I still think he'll be gonzo). I also wanted to fit a receiver and another safety in there (Dillard or Mike Thomas at receiver etc) but I love all the guys I put in and couldn't part with any of them. I think Barwin and Smith are going to be dominant and I felt I had to put them in the first round. I've been doing this for 3 years now and have done a lot of research but, we'll see.
Good luck to all fellow mockers. This is a crucial time in the history of our team. Those of us who pay attention will be invested. We will feel more pride when our draft picks succeed / more angst and pain when the fail. It will be bumpy, but hopefully there will be a championship at the end of the rainbow - before the Bears :). Go Broncos!
1. Sean Smith, FS/CB (UT)
1a. Connor Barwin, OLB (CIN)
2. Max Unger, C, (OR).
3. Fili Moala, DE, 6-4/305, USC
3. Sammie Lee Hill, NT, 6-3.7/329, Stillman
4. Joe Burnett, CB/KPR, 5-9.3/198, Central Florida
5. Scott McKillop, ILB, 6-0.7/244, Pittsburgh
6. Tom Brandstater QB Fresno State
7. Ryan Stanchek, OG, 6-3.1/306, West Virginia
7. Nick Reed, OLB, 6-1.3/247, Oregon
This serves to build up our front 7 with 3 of the first 5 picks. It improves our secondary and builds depth on the O-line. It also gives us an explosive kick-returner in Joe Burnett so Eddie can focus on catching balls. Now, gimme da' loot!
