2009 NFL Schedule Release Party
The NFL gets it, I mean they really do. For years they have released the schedule at noon or 2 PM. Each year the day of the release has become a bigger and bigger deal. What does the League do? Move it to primetime and schedule an entire hour long show to releasing the schedule. Classic.
ESPN is devoting 2 hours to the release. Think about it, we already know WHO the Broncos will play in 2009, and if you think about it a bit, and consider the NFL's TV policy and other events CBS and FOX cover at times(US OPEN for instance) you could probably get pretty close.
We all know, as the NFL does, that it isn't simply about dates and opponents. No, it is a celebration of the next phase of the NFL off-season. Each phase that ends welcomes the next and before you know it I'll be in Denver watching Training Camp.
So Broncos Fans, come and discuss the schedule. Discuss which games you'll go to and why. Discuss which stretch will be crucial to the team's success and why the team will get out to a 4-0 start. That's all part of the fun, part of the lure of the Broncos and the NFL.
I'll post the schedule when it is released. Until then, here are the Broncos' home and road opponents for 2009 --
2009 Home Games (w/2008 records)
Kansas City Chiefs (2-14)
San Diego Chargers (8-8)

hopefully the broncos will play home to either the steelers, pats, or cowboys during the last 2 weeks of the season.
cuz thats when i can go during winter break and i want to see them play a good team. they will probly go to sandeigo during 1 of those 2 weeks for like the 100th straight time.
I hope we get tough games on the road
and the easier games at home. I want a challenge in 2009!!!
In all seriousness, we sure as hell better have a winning record at home this year…

Are you nuts?! :)
I want a winning record. I’m glad we’ve got the Giants, Steelers, and Patriots at home. Given that Orton, unlike Jay, seems to play better at home, maybe we can re-establish our home field advantage. On the road against nondivisional opponents the Bungles, Redskins, Eagles and Ravens are beatable, more or less in descending order, and maybe we can give Indianapolis a game for a change. I think 10-6 will be an uphill battle, but if we can go 4-2 or better in our division, play tough at home, and play .500 ball on the road we might be able to do it.

Good Opponents to Learn From
One of the maddening things about the Shanahan era was our apparent ability to constantly play down to our opposition.
With so many tough teams in October I hope it raises our teams play and they can maintain it.
The schedule, mostly anticlimatically

Nice!
Gives us a few “warm-up” games (though by NO means taken for granted). And, as a recent – if rather reluctant – newcomer to Pennsylvania, I’m happy to see there are three games that are pretty close by!
I really wish
I could watch the Broncos in person, but I live in MN, so every football game I go to is in the worst stadium in the league, the metrodome.
