Jake Plummer on Jim Rome 4/16
I just saw this advertised on ESPN and wanted to spread the word if anyone is able to catch it.
On April 16th one of Jim Rome's guests will be Jake 'The Snake' Plummer. I wonder if we are in for a glimpse into what Plummer's thoughts are on Denver's offseason. If this is the case, I hope they talk about the team as whole and do not permeate the Cutler/McDaniels saga. I am hoping they go into La La Land and just focus on the positives!
And for some reason I decided to chew up 15 minutes of free time and found this amazing resemblance - like it is the second coming or something...

Positives?
Don’t bet on it.
I was a Plummer fan while he was here. I still don’t think much blame should or can be laid at his feet for the AFC championship defeat or meltdown that was the 2006 season (that was a team w/o a defense and devoid of any real offensive playmakers).
HOWEVER, Jake has had an ax to grind ever sense he couldn’t force his way to Broncos South and I fully expect him to pontificate at great length about the weaknesses of Shanny and JC. I’m pretty sure you don’t book the QB who was unceremoniously dumped by a coach for a hot rookie (both of whom were themselves shown the door only a couple of seasons later) in order to toss verbal flower petals at any of the participants (including our Team).
I expect a lot of references to Jake’s winning percentage vs. JC’s, whether he thinks JC is a real leader, whether he thinks Orton can win (preview: "yes but"), etc. I also expect an undercurrent of "ha ha" by Jake and Rome.
Plummer is bitter towards the Broncos...but
if he only knew the fans still like him. Sure we wanted to put him out to pasture for the hot young Cutler, but we all have buyers regret now.
Verbose in style, dispersion of thought, procrastination in life.
I don't.
JC over Plummer any day of the week (but most of all on Sunday).
You think JC was bad publicity-wise? When Plummer wasn’t throwing left-handed interceptions inside our own 20, he was flipping off fans, cussing out reporters (on voicemail! Duh!!!), getting in road rage scrapes, and breaking his foot by popping his flipping toes. And that doesn’t even get into the physical differences between the two or how each approaches practice and film study.
I can’t believe ANYONE would really rather have Jake than JC.
Maybe jake only looks good to us now in comparison to the tools of Orton . . . (not meant as a slam on Orton, just an acknowledgement that Jake did have some positives [throwing just wasn’t really one of them]).

Nobody threw better than Plummer on a roll out.

Yeah, he was quite good outside the hash marks.
I was really fond of Plummer when he was here and don’t have anything bad to say about him. I will be interested to see what his take on the whole situation is now that the guy that replaced him is gone. Say what you want about Plummer, yet he was much more successfull in Denver than Jay.
GO BRONCOS IN 2009 AND BEYOND!!
His TD:INT ratio was always good until Lepsis went down and he couldn't trust his blind side anymore.
It always pissed me off that he got so much heat for how things happened in 2006. But when he came off the bench in 2006 he didn’t look good. He plays well only when he’s confident. He was exhasperating to watch at times though. But I only have fond memories of the guy.

The way 206 ended.
I honestly think he was looking over his shoulder when Jay got drafted and he was never the same. I do wish it could have ended better and like you will remember the good things he did for the Broncos.

The whole Cutler fiasco
Made me go back and recall Plummer’s time here.
The guy was a great guy and a great team player, even if he didn’t always make the best decisions.
The fans were merciless to him, though; I think he got especially shafted by Shanahan for Cutler in his last year here.
Kinda makes you miss the guy. If only for the beard.
The main thing I remember aboout Jake
Is that when he was with the Cardinals I would always make comments about how well he could do in Denver if he ever got the chance. I think it was his scrambling ability and 4th quarter comebacks that reminded me of you know who. Once upon a time he did come to Denver (and yes, I was very much in a “I told you so mood”), but in the end there was obviously some potential left on the field.
I do not know if it is a product of living in Nebraska or if I just didn’t care, but I do not remember hearing about all his inept behavior. It is certainly interesting to hear about the “other side of the coin.” Thanks fellas!

ESPN - Jim Rome is Burning (TV)
At least that is where I saw the commercial – immediately after his Wed. TV show.
Does he ever do both TV and Radio with a guest?
