Stafford throws a wrench in the cog!
Matthew Stafford says he won't sign with the Detroit Lions. Stafford in a local pub, (pure spectulation on my part) was over heard saying that he has spoken to the Seattle Seahawks and they are willing to match the Lions contract. Teams 2-6 in the draft are scrambling to pencil out projected picks and are scratching their heads trying to figure out who they can pick to shore up their needs. Stafford was muttering something that sounded like, I ain't playing for a *l*o*s*e*r*! The Lions feel after conferring with Tampa Bay's coach Moore that they can pick Josh Freeman with the 20th pick. Tampa Bay steps on the Lions paws and selects Josh Freeman at #19, and every war room in the nation is rolling in the floor laughing their butts off. This is all conjecture mind you, but, its my MOCK and I'm sticking to it...

I'm curious...
I see P. Jerry showing up as a potential Bronco pick in a lot of mock drafts. Are people projecting him as a possible five-technique in the 3-4? I see nothing in his scouting reports to indicate that he is viewed as a NT candidate.
Just curious.

That's correct.
In our scheme, we would have to move him outside opposite Jackson. He doesn’t fit the 3/4 NT somatotype or skill set. He does, however, have a non-stop motor and from what I have read and seen is a high charachter guy.
Marcus Thomas
I don’t get why people think we need to find two new starting ends. Marcus Thomas is a good player, probably one of the best on our defense, and he should fit in well at 3-4 end. The Peria Jerry pick is superfluous and a waste if we take Jackson.

I didn't get you
to laugh…LOL. You know I’m not real sure how he will go. Just a gut feeling, even though my guts may just be full of HOT air….
I keep hearing about Stafford
talking about his contract, and if I was a team looking for a QB in this draft, I would take this kid off my board completely.
Everything about him has felt overblown and I’ve been saying for months that he’s not worth the investment.
If we get Tyson
with the 1st pick, who would you choose at 18? And if you were Stafford would you want to play for the LIONS?
Since you asked...
If I was Stafford, I would stfu about everything, play for whoever drafted and accept my $40 million like a real man.

Like Elway did?
Hehe, just playing. Those Colts were just about as bad as these Lions are. I wouldn’t blame either one of them.
Hey, what if they draft him and trade him to us? Would he be Elway II?
I seem to have lost my future self.
doubtful.
Stafford doesn’t have another sport to play if this doesn’t work out.

i would look seriously at the secondary
someone like jenkins if he’s still there (i realise he’s not on yours) or davis or smith.
QB's
Overall this isn’t a QB draft year. If Stafford, Sanchez and Freeman had stayed for another year, they would be in a mix of better QBs next year and not as highly regarded. That leaves very few QBs to be considered on day 1. Not saying the three aren’t talented, but are they really first round QBs? Just a thought.
Also I think I saw Jerry listed as a better fit for the 4-3 not the 3-4.
Of the three
I think Sanchez is the best. I think Freeman is a guy who is getting serious first round consideration based on “tools” and not actual “ability”. I saw the guy play a lot of times at K-State and he just…wasn’t…that…good.

I hate the fact that San Diego might select Rey Maualuga
we’ll have to face him twice a year, but I think they will take him as a junior Seau proto-type. And the other, I think the Lion’s are desperate and will almost chew on a boot to get what they need.
Don't you think?
If the Lion’s hadn’t already made a deal with Stafford that it probably won’t happen? If I was Matt Stafford and I felt my value was high enough, I sure as heck wouldn’t want to play for a loser (Lions) and stale my career at the bottom the of the heep.
aaron curry
i go back to my draftivus pick. take curry!! the lions will still have a top ten pick next year and can take any of the great quarterbacks that are coming out. aaron curry is a difference maker and for sure no bust pick.
When was the last time a Linebacker was selected 1st?
Aaron Curry is a monster no doubt…and it would thrill the heck out him to be picked 1st I suppose
If Detroit goes O Line first pick
like they SHOULD, I have a gut feeling that Stafford will go to San Francisco, and Sanchez will be around at 12 when we pick Tyson Jackson. At that point, Sanchez will go at 17 to the Jets. I don’t think Maualuga will go to SD though. I hope he doesn’t anyways. I’d love for Denver to take him at 18, because like McDaniels said, they will take the BEST player available in a slot they NEED. At this point, we NEED an MLB/ILB.

Everybody's saying
that Rey has issues, and the only issue I see is over reacts sometimes, and that can be coached. He reminds me of Troy Palopalu, and that to me is enough. Shoot who didn’t party a little in college???
+1 on that bfree
He and Palomalu have a LOT in common. mostly the hair. Gotta love that hair.

No Peria Jerry.
If Knowshon is there at 18, then we would be fools to pass on him. And if he’s not, then I would like me some Sean Smith or Brian Cushing, please.
I seem to have lost my future self.
after watching some stuff about Cushing
I’m pretty sure I’d like if we got him too.
