MHR Community Mock Draft Pick #38

With the #38 pick in the 2009 MHR Community Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select.... DE, TYSON JACKSON, LSU
|
Cincinnati Bengals Round 2, Pick #38 overall GM Duke TC |
Details of the pick after the jump...
From GM Denver Native: Jackson provides too much value to pass up in the second round. His versatility and experience will allow him to step up and make an immediate impact for us in 2009. A three year starter in the SEC, Jackson is the best five technique defensive lineman in the draft. He has been characterized as a hard worker and a natural leader, both of which are qualities we value in our personnel selection.
*****
Commish's Thoughts: I too was surprised that Jackson lasted this long, but where I have him rated, this is around where, perhaps, he should be taken. The LSU defense has seen a major overhaul from its gang-tackling days, and it lost the real architect last year, which helps expalin some of the LSU falloff. But even at that, LSU players are anything but locks int eh NFL, particularly on defense where it has traditionally been hard to get a read on individuals within the system. One thing that is for sure about Jackson, is his incredibly ideal size and speed. That age old saying applies in spades here: Buyer Beware!

Seriously
he will be one of the first 20-25 players taken in the real draft, possibly even to the Broncos with one of their first two.
so in the sense that it’s a steal, it’s hard to argue with this pick!
in the sense that it’s not believable that he’ll last anywhere near this long, it’s kinda silly :-)
Tyson
the browns wouldve taken him at 36 instead of Delmas

PICK 50
That pick belongs to the Browns because of the Kellen Winslow trade.
