MHR Community Mock Draft Pick #16
|
|
With the #16 pick in the 2009 MHR Community Mock Draft, the San diego Chargers select.... ILB, REY MAUALUGA, USC
|
San diego Chargers
Round 1, Pick #16 overall GM Sadaraine
|
Details of the pick after the jump...
From GM Sadaraine: San Diego picks Rey Rey. He fits their defense quite well and brings an imposing presence to the middle of thier front 7. Charger fans everywhere will have flashes of Seau in thier eyes as they watch Rey make mince meat of Running Backs that dare to try taking it up the middle.
He can definitely contribute right away but I see him truly coming into his own after a year in a system. His demeanor and intangables should add quite a bit to any defense he works with.
Commish's Thoughts: I really, really hope this and nothing like this occurs on draft day, or draftivus will definitely be a bittersweet feeling. The last thing I want to see on SD is relentless downhill playmakers who make QB's lives miserable and who help re-establish a line of scrimmage. The only hope is that SD is unable to really gell in their front 3, but if this is the pick, something tells me their defense will continue to play at a high level, at least for a little while longer.

ON THE CLOCK New York Jets are up next. This pick will go up later today, after you guys have a chance to ruminate on SD's pick. Cutler or no Cutler, Draftivus cannot be denied! The deadline for this pick is Actually in the Queu already. As long as I receive the pick by that time it will be valid. To send me the pick, just email me at the address shown in my profile. |

Damn yous, damns yous all to hell!
I was hoping Rey would slip to the Titans! I couldn’t convince you to take Moreno.

Interesting that still no QB have come off the board
Jets and Bears have some interesting options

I'm a idiot, I scanned the list and it didn't register
Maybe cause I just couldn’t see J-ville taking a QB

Besides that
Chicago won’t need a QB now !!!
I don’t want breakaway speed. I want break-some-poor-fool-as-I-bowl-you-over power getting 6 yards off a play that should have been stopped for 2 at most.

I voted no.
Probably out of pure emotion wrapped up in the situation at hand.
I would like to reserve the right to change my mind at a later time.

Best poll ever!
As far as the pick, I think it’s solid for SD. I’m not a huge Rey fan but I think he fits what they do and his draft value is in the 15-20 range.

Yup.
Charger fans everywhere will have flashes of Seau in their eyes.
That’s been my feeling about him all along. If he’s available, I think this is a no brainer for them, even over Knowshon.

Agreed
Good pick, Sadarine. I’ve been watching the Chargers for a while, and this is their best bet without reservation

holy crap that is right!

Nice!
That’s what I chose too over at Mocking the draft.
