It's Not Too Late...
I'm saddened by the decision of Mr. Bowlen to trade Jay Cutler. And yet as I read from journalists, bloggers, and fans everyone states that this has reached a point of no return. There is no turning back.
WRONG. He's still our guy until he's traded. It's time for the three stooges Bowlen, Xanders, and McDaniels to step back from the cliff and ask themselves if they really want to be the Baltimore Colts II. Nobody knows better than Pat Bowlen what happened to the Colts after they traded John Elway. There wandered in obscurity for TWO DECADES.
As I've written previosuly it's difficult to trust that McDaniels has even scouted his own team. IF he had done so he wouldn't have believed that his biggest and first priority was to sign a long-snapper. If he had done so he wouldn't be shopping a Pro-Bowl QB who has proven that he will work hard and wants to win. If he had he would know the guy scored extremely well in intelligence tests. If he had he would know that Jay is alot like John was at this age.
But now it's Bowlen that I'm wondering about. Was he there in John's early years? Does he recall how Denver won their SuperBowls?
Come on Pat.
This is no time for a cliff jumping suicide act.
Back off and do the right thing. If you think Jay hurt your pride. Your r pride is really going to hurt in the next 20 years of wandering humiliation.

Your points
lack depth
they lack reasoning.
and most of all, they don’t connect.
Are you aware that when Elway was drafted, Bowlen was a rookie owner?
Come back when your reasoning actually makes sense.

all I'm saying is
until you or anyone else here is doing their job, don’t downright criticize them for their efforts. You don’t know what went on behind closed doors, and neither do I. All I know is what I’ve seen. And based on what I have seen, Jay Cutler is an immature cry baby that thinks his playing for the NFL is a right, not a privelege. Someone really should take this dude to North Denver for a night, leave his ass in the ghetto for a while, and make him go work minimum wage at McDonalds for a while to show him how lucky he is to have what he has.
Don’t talk to me about being classy, I try my hardest to hear out everyone’s opinions fully before I make my criticisms, but to be completely ignorant to the situation by choice doesn’t fly with me. Dont CHOOSE TO HEAR WHAT YOU WANT AND MAKE YOUR RANTS ON THAT.
hear the full story, and come to me with that.

Easy there Calijoe
Your issue with this post appears to be only that you don’t agree with its point of view, not any lack of logic, etc. on the part of the writer. Given that, say “disagree” and give your reasons and move on. Your imposing your view and belief of what happened just like him (speaking of, I doubt ANY of us can say we know the FULL STORY here).
You disagree. I get it. You hate JC. I get that too. But angry retorts directed at a poster (i.e., “come back when your reasoning actually makes sense”) are weak-sauce and beneath the class of this site IMO.
If to try to shout down contrary opinion, you end up narrowing the breath of views expressed and run the risk of "chilling" the interest of other members in participating.

Good point Ghost
I’m tired of the name calling and division in Bronco Country. We are orange AND blue, not orange OR blue.

Sat what?
Do you really think Cutler hurt Bowlen’s pride?
And btw, Bowlen wasn’t in the NFL when Elway was drafted. It was Kaiser that owned the Broncos then and Kaiser that made the deal to get Elway. Bowlen bought the team from Kaiser.

those two situations are totally different
the colts trading elway was soooooooooo different than us trading cutler i can’t even explain it. while you are right, it’s not over until it is over, I am 99% sure he will not be a Bronco, also show some class and don’t call them the three stooges. they are very good at their jobs and are handling this as well as they can.

I liked it too.
I’m starting to wonder if Bowlen is in the process of losing his remaining marbles.
1. His hof induction speech was incoherent.
2. He fired one of the NFL’s greatest coaches who was on the brink of having a very good team (few defensive moves away).
3. He hired a rookie HC that comes from a loooong line of disasterous NFL HCs.
4. He fired his experienced and talented mangement team are replaced them with a rookie GM.
5. He allowed his Pro Bowl QB and slimeball agent to strong arm him into a trade (they won here people…figure it out).
Ultimately he’s taken a team a few defensive acquisitions short of SB contnder and turned it into an absolute f’ing train wreck. Gure said we were bad at 24-24? Let’s hope we’re not about to find out what real ‘bad’ is.

Poster....agreed
strangest 3 months I’ve ever seen.
The sad thing is, I really feel we were only one good defensive draft from winning a SB in the next couple years.

The major point here being
Cutler’s still our guy right here, right now. There is still a chance he won’t be traded, though I don’t know what the odds are. It’s looks like a game of chicken, especially if Cutler’s trade will be to the Lions. I suspect if that’s his only option, suddenly all parties involved will be ready to put this thing behind them. Let’s wait and see what develops and for now we can just understand that it’s not over yet.

Yes...I appreciate that
Yes, I appreciate that you got the main point. It’s not too late to back away from stupidity.
In responding to other posts. Yes, I am well aware that Pat didn’t own the team when Elway came to Denver. But hew owned the team shortly thereafter. I do not own the Broncos, I know what happened back then so I assume Pat has some idea of what happened too?
John Elway was called a big crybaby spoiled brat when he demanded a trade too. So what say you. Did we make a big mistake by trading for the ball baby Elway? Turns out he was pretty good at what he did and a pretty decent person.
Same goes for Jay. He’s already demonstrated good character. He’s already demonstrated that he has some of the same immaturity Elway might have had at 25 too. He’ll be just fine.
And because of that I find it ironic that Pat Bowlen of all people is willing to make this mistake.
He should know better!

I hope they can move Jay soon
so we don’t have to keep reading the Cutler camp’s delusions about keeping him despite the issues.
We have come to a point where everyone has staked out their position and they are holding on to every little thing that supports their point of view, while ignoring everything that goes against. We are not going to have any reasonable conversations when so many members of the conversation have retreated into their close minded holes.
The anti Jay camp will have to wait to see Cutler ‘Jeff George’ his next team for vindication, and the pro Jay camp will have to wait for him to win the Super Bowl for theirs.
But what it really comes down to is this: if anyone doesn’t respond to their boss for over a day, they get fired, and if they don’t then the boss wasn’t doing his job. You know it is true in your line of work, and it should be true in the NFL. You will seldom get away with trying to reverse the power relationships in your life if you hold little power.
Of course we all know that I don’t think that Jay ever had the intention of keeping this particular job, so he really did get away with the power reversal based on the desired outcome of get fired. IMHO

Of course I don't think he will fail tremendously, or succeed wildly.
I think he will do well, but will continue to be plagued by his decision making ability and his attitude.
Plagues I will be glad to be rid of.

I think you’re projecting buddy. You may have crawled into your ‘close-minded closet’ (I think it’s pretty clear that you have). I’m still trying to figure out what the hell happened. Look…if you don’t agree with or want to read the post then don’t. Don’t make a shitty comment about the “Cutler camp’s delusions” and how the anti-Jay camp will be ‘vindicated’. You’re just fanning the flames at that point. Like I said, if you don’t like it…ignore it. But don’t make a condescending posts about how you have to “keep reading the Cutler camp’s delustions”. Nobody is forcing you to read anything.

Your right, its not delusional to expect to see Cutler throwing passes for the Broncos again.
I’m not going to say I haven’t taken a side, that side is the Broncos, obviously, because I am a Bronco fan. At the same time, I have tried very hard to not be close minded on this issue. (For the record I would be against McD if I thought there was anything wrong with shopping a player, but there isn’t.)
I’m making my comments for the same reason you are, I have something to say about everyone else’s opinion. My opinion of this opinion is that it is a delusional waste of time.
Stop wasting your time folks, it is over.
If you don’t like that I find your opinion delusional you could ignore my opinion, or you could post a response. Hmm
Speaking of condescending… isn’t it a bit condescending to call the Broncos FO the three stooges because they made a decision you disagree with. Especially when you consider how much more information they have pertaining to the situation than you do.
But your right I am not being forced to read anything, just like I wasn’t being forced to read the DP’s drivel for years. I choose to read MHR, and I will keep criticizing that which I find unreasonable.

You took the Broncos side?
Last I checked Cutler is still a Bronco.
I have no problem with you responding that you disagree. My problem is you calling those that disagree with you ‘delusional’. It’s not necessary and, like I said, only ‘fans the flames’.
