Another Maurice Clarrett?
Here is a pretty good article on what sounds like a potential superstar who would play mlb in a 3-4 system. He has had character problems in the past, but sounds like he's grown up and matured. It says in the article that Denver has looked at him, as well as many other teams. Would you guys take a shot at him in the 6th or 7th round?
Here is the link, hopefully it works.

Being a Hurricane fan I will say that
Williams was hyped coming into the U’ , I thought he was going to be the next big thing at LB, but it never worked out , he never became a starter.
He used to get into trouble for stupid things, like pulling fire extinquishers and once was in trouble for giving an improper hug – for real! I don’t even know what that means but…
As far as talent goes, he has skills and I hope he makes the most of those skills but I think his past may haunt him a bit.
Moreno in '09!
He's probably a CFA,
but he’s a lot different than Clarrett. Mo showed big league ability his freshman year at OSU, then got caught up in a grade/cheating scandal and was suspended. Rather than take the consequences and sit out his year he decided to use the courts to try to force entry into the NFL. Instead of staying in shape he blimped out while looking for a short cut.
To me, Williams is a guy who made mistakes, but has paid his dues to some extent. He keeps trying to find a place to play where ever that is. His perseverance probably warrants a look but there’s a lot of late round players who probably deserve a look.
a LOT of late round players that deserve a good look...
but I have faith that McD is not only turning every stone on our team, but also turning every stone in the draft.

We don't have a great need for smaller weakside LBs in the 5-2/3-4
But I wish him the best.

Crocodile Tears?
What is this guy going to be like in a big town with cash to blow? But I think he could make the Practice squad and bulk up to contribute.
CFA maybe...
I don’t think I’d use a pick on him, but might take him as a CFA. Although it sounds like he may have left his baggage behind, it still seems to haunt him a little. Could be a fantastic special teamer though. Robinsons article on Yahoo is a good read on him I think.
My 2 Cents (worth about 1/2 a penny)
Like I just replied in another post:
I have a hard time faulting someone who can man up and accept responsibility for his actions. It’s rare to find someone who doesn’t blame something or someone for all there problems, which is something I just can’t stand. as we live in a world of “I’m not responsible for my own actions”.
ie: “I shot up my school because I was Bullied”
“My husband drank and drove and ended up crashing and died. But it was his friends, the bartender, etc. fault for letting him do it”
In general Society has no backbone. So anytime (which I can’t really remember happening before) I read an something along the lines:
“A lot of my past mistakes were so immature. And I’m not blaming it on me being younger or because my dad died and all that. It was my fault. I had to learn from that”
I want to believe that this is at least someone who is smart enough to realize it’s not everyone else, but himself, which to me makes me think he is/wants to change and is less likely to fall back into the mold.
Of course as they say… Talk is Cheap.
Ok, I’m done ranting for the day. Well at least the next 10 min.

Only guy I can think of who, even when his team mates were letting him off the hook, came out and said, I screwed up, I was an idiot.
