Schefler to the Eagles?!
ROTOWORLD.com is reporting that the EAGLES called about Schef but McD says he's isn't going anywhere. The reported asking price is a 1st rounder but its suspected a 2nd or 3rd would get the deal done.
From Rotoworld:
The Eagles phoned the Broncos about Tony Scheffler's availability recently.
Philadelphia lost out to Atlanta for Tony Gonzalez, but could add more speed and youth with Scheffler, who has experience in a West Coast style offense like Andy Reid's. The Denver Post says the Broncos won't trade Scheffler unless they're offered a first-round pick. We're confident he can be had for at a second- or third-rounder, though. Josh McDaniels' offense uses TEs little, Scheffler's in a contract year, and he's been on the trade block for months. Apr. 25 - 2:59 am etThis is a Fan-Created Comment on MileHighReport.com. I like Shef
But if Coach thinks otherwise, I’ll roll with it.
My Dad told me about the 4 seasons:
Pre-season
Regular-season
Post-season
Off-season
Research
Didn’t Bear and nycBronco dispell the myth that McDaniels doesn’t use the TE position? Jeez, don’t these guys do any research, or do they just make claims that have no basis in fact because ’that’s what everyone says’?
We don't devote nearly enough scientific research to finding a cure for jerks. - Calvin
The Pats...
…are one of three teams to use 3TE sets here and there. (PITT more than most, Denver was experimenting the last three years).

They are lazy!
The MSM is great at stating the old and the obvious. They don’t do any research imo whatsoever. If the “great Jamie Dukes” did half of the research that MHR does he would almost appear to know what he is talking about. I think players won’t talk bad about another player, if they can blame the coach or organisation first. I digress SORRY :)
GO BRONCOS
Tough times don't last.......Only tough people!
A first rounder for Scheffler - Are they HIGH?
I would never give a first rounder for a pass catching back up tight end who is an average blocker is injured quite often.
If we could get a 2nd for Tony I think you send him and one of the Fruit Flower baskets and a Thank you Card!
Moreno in '09!
Awesome Steve O!!!!.....If we get that 2nd, have you got an address to send him that? I will even throw in a bottle of DOM!!!!
Be lucky to get a 4th for him!!!
Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????
did tony report to the mini camp?
or is he still holding out training with the nuggets?
I think he did all the mini camps
He just seems to like the Nuggets guy, so worked out with him. I don’t see it as a sign he’s being a troublemaker.

There will be a lot of trading going on today, I amagine.
T Shef has been working out with the Broncos and with the Nuggets trainer. Probably a conditioning program he prefers.
If someone offers a 2nd rounder
then i think they have to think about it. If someone is stupid enough to offer a 1st then they jump on it.

a player like Julius Peppers
is worthy of a first. Tony Scheffler? I doubt it, but some teams are stupid enough to think he may be worth it…and to those teams, I say good luck! We’ll be using THAT to our advantage. Imagine it for a second though, getting a first round pick for next years draft for him now…
that gives us 3 first rounders next year, that’s half of what some peoples entire drafts are, all in the top 32.

in my opinion
Scheffler is worth a late first round pick. He’s still 26 and one of the best receiving tight ends in the game has the potential to be great. I don’t think his blocking is nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be.,
