Why are we penciling in Ayers as an OLB???

I am a huge Vols fan (grew up in Knoxville) Ayers rotated between DT and DE his junior year because of his stoutness against the run (led the Vols in tackles for loss that year too). I think he'll be a 3-4 end. I think he is going to start immediately and be a stud against the run.  If he were drafted by a 4-3 team I guarantee he would either be subbed out or pushed to DT on obvious passing situations (as he did in college) so why do we consider him a rush linebacker?
