In an effort to better understand the most polarizing pick of the draft I was doing research on Alphonso Smith. I thought since he played in the ACC he had to have gone up against some the top receivers in this years draft, mainly Oaklands' pick Heyward-Bey. The only thing I really found was the stat sheet with Hayward-Bey catching 11 balls for 101 yards and 1 TD. I could not tell if Smith covered him on a regular basis or what. Are there any fans out there who follow the ACC closer than I do who has this info, saw this game or any links to video of this game?
Also, it did not look like he ever lined up against UNC and Nicks and Tate, is that correct?
I looked at the highlight video of Smith, but looking at him go against a receiver who made it to the NFL gives me more to go on than looking at his best plays.
