Hey all,
I'm sure this has been said but I am soooo frustrated by what's been going on around town that I had to get it out. No better place than MHR.
It seems to me that the majority of voices I've heard are saying things like
"What was he thinking? Oh my God! We're the new Oakland. Get used to it"
"Fire the coach"
"We should have picked (insert player) and then (insert player) he didn't do that, so he is stupid."
ARRRRRGGGG!
Our loudest fans are also the worst fans, I really hate that.
This team was not a band-aid fix away from Super Bowl contenders. We are changing the culture of this football club. We are changing the way things are done. We are NOT HANGING ON TO ANYTHING THIS ORGANIZATION HAS DONE OVER THE LAST DECADE.
Get it through your heads. McDaniels is not mentally ill. I am sure he knows that a pass rush is important. But how can all these people assume that we have no talent on the D-Line??
Jake Plummer was on national television a couple weeks ago talking about how Mike Shannahan ripped all the joy of the game out of him by demanding perfection. He also mentioned that Mike didn't pay enough attention to the defense. A change in attitude and philosophy could be EXACTLY what guys like Doom, Moss, and Thomas need. These guys are not hyped rookies, they know what it takes to compete at the NFL level and with the excitement and leadership in the locker room I would not be surprised to see a few of these forgotten assets shine in the new era.
Do you REALLY think the Head Coach would just ignore the D-Line if he thought there was a problem?? These people are talking like McDaniels has come out and said
"We have a bunch of 10 year old girls as our starting d-lineman. I can't win with these guys. But that's ok. I'll just keep it that way. I've come here to lose, and that's what I plan on doing."
???????
Talk radio guys, and callers, and espn peeps, and nfl network guys, they ALL seem to accept that McDaniels has had a jump in logic. When they try to piece together the Cutler thing they say
"Why would you do that? Why would you run a franchise QB out of town. Ha ha ha, you can't win without a QB! Man, this guy is going to run this franchise into the ground. Pat Bowlen is going to have a tough time admitting he made a mistake, if he waits 3 years to do it, this franchise could turn into the Detroit Lions."
HE HASN'T COACHED A #%@#@#$% GAME YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He hasn't had ONE chance to show you what he can or cannot do with this football team. YOU ARE NOT AS SMART AS YOU THINK YOU ARE!
There is a reason McDaniels has done the things he has done. Accept that first. He has a reason. You don't know the reason. That's ok. It's not your job to know.
There is a LARGE group of players new to the Orange and Blue and they've heard for years what great fans we have in Denver and they are being ushered in to boos and calls for the head coach who HASN'T COACHED A GAME YET to be fired.
So, please, MHR ... can we just buy out a section of Mile High Stadium just for us? I don't want to be around these people anymore.
There has to be a place for us!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!
