McDaniels interview on the Fan
http://www.fm1043thefan.com/channels/audioOnDemand/Story.aspx?ID=1078931
Mcdaniels interviewed with Scot and Al today. I highly highly highly recommend this interview. Makes me really appreciate the coach that we have here. He talks mostly about the Cutler situation but talks a little about the upcoming draft and Peyton Hillis.
Let me just say, I am very excited for the draft and this upcoming season. I definitely do not see the doom and gloom a lot of denver is seeing.

Not a lot ...
The doom and gloom generation of fans may be loud, but the passionate are louder. Let’s show up at Dove Valley in a couple of months and show our boys what Denver fans are all about!

Seemed to be very antagonistic….. It’s annoying…. But McDaniels sounds confident I love it! GO BRONCOS

Alright im sold!!!!!
I have learned 5 things about the coach today and they are all positive.
1) He has a mucus problem like me and has to clear his throat every other sentence. Alright thats not an important issue unless you look back at the interview at Dana Point in which I thought he was being a smart ass when talking about Jay.
2) He is a straight shooter! I may not be the sharpest guy on MHR but I am pretty good at evaluating a person from the way they contruct their sentences and I heard nothing but sencerity in what he said.
3) He could talk an escamo into buying a bag of ice! His enthusiasim is infectious and I think it will reflect on the team. I no longer have any doubts that what he is selling to the team will be bought.
4) He wants to win! I now know for sure that he has come here with 1 goal in mind and thats to win no matter what it takes.
5) He is all about the team! The days of bending over and kissing one players butt is over.
In short as I have mentioned before I am a simple man and dont have the ability or the smarts to compete with some of the other posters at MHR nor do I want to try but I DO consider myself to be a pretty good evaluater when it comes to people and how they will react or perform in certain situations(Restauraunt manager now for 4 years).
For me this interview told me all I needed to know! McDaniels is here to win and he now has my full support. I know now what Bowlen saw in him and the comparisons to Mangini and the others can no longer hold water as far as I am concerned. The man has a vision and I for one believe that his vision will be seen throgh to its fruition.
I am now more excited for the days and weeks and monthes to come, gone are my visions of doom and gloom! Welcome Josh McDaniels for you and I share the same hope and dreams and in my (our) vision of the future I see another championship coming soon to the Broncos and maybe just maybe" A DYNASTY".
Sorry for the bad spelling but I think the intellegent people her can comprehend my message.
Sinceraly a Broncos fan for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great post, bob
Beautifully articulated. You’re a real fan, man!
Just curious, where did you learn he had the mucous problem?

I fist noticed it from the interview at the owners meetings.
When you hear him talk for any length of time he stops on occassion to clear his throat. I have to do the same thing when I talk. I actually went so far as to see a doctor about it and he told me the only way to fix it is use nasal spray constintly. No thanks I dont like shooting that crap up my nose so I just deal with it.

Bust...
You are too hard on yourself.
You are one of my favorite posters, you are opinionated but not stubborn, and admit when you have made a mistake.
Dude, you are a switched on cat and much respect to ya my friend.
I agree with you.
After seeing the Chicago PC, Jedis PC and the radio interview, I am 100% convinced that out team is on the upswing with Jedi, and the loss of Cutler wont be that much.
Nice mate!

Good post broncosorbust
I totally hear what you are saying. Hearing him talk I feel somewhat the same way you do. There is a lot of scenerity in him when he talks and I am becoming more relaxed that this whole thing is done with. I am excited to see what this guy can do.

Thanks you two!!
That means a whole lot to me coming from yall. I am just learning how to express myself in writing and it has been an eye opening expereance for me.
Boydy me and you have not always seen eye to eye on everything but I have so much respect for you that I read absolutely everything you post. You have taught me more here than anyone else in the ways of writing down your feelings and makeing it sensible. For that I am always in your debt.
Weazel I enjoy reading all your posts as you are a lot like me, a lot of emotion temperd with a little bit of rationality. Hey that makes for a good combination for a Broncos fan dont ya think?
Thanks you 2 I feel more like a real MHR member now and anytime I am able to contribute to this wonderful community I will do my best to do it.
To Guru: Did you ban swag? I know he said some harsh things and he liked to stir up the pot, so to say, but dont you think we could use someone like that. I certainly didnt agree with everything he said but you have to admit he has an overwhelming passion for the Broncos. I really do not want to be a thorn in your side but I really feel like someone should say somthing about this issue. I respect any decision you make because you are the QB of this website but I just wonder if maybe the decision to ban him was a bit hastey? Afterall I felt alot like him when all this first happened but he had the guts to put it into words when I was hesitant to do so. Who knows he may have changed his view on things like me after hearing McDaniels interview but even if he didnt I appreciated what he added to the conversations over the past month. You, of course, do not have to give me an answer to this but I just really felt it was somthing I had to say in defense of another Broncos fan(even if I didnt totally agree with him).

I like your points BOB
On #2 I was thinking the same thing. This guy never hesitated in his recollection of issues and it, to me, was a good indication or sincerity as you put it.
You know the other thing? Just how collected he is and how he holds himself. The example i give is of when he was asked about 3 questions in one sentence and the way he replied, “how do you want me to start?” just showed to me that rather than stumble around the many questions, he was collected enough to pause, get the conversation back on track, and then he proceeded again.
There’s something about this guy. If I’m playing, I want someone like this as my coach.

I agree ...
but I can’t recommend it as mandatory listening as no one should be mandated to listen to Scott and Al ;-). Rec’d, nevertheless, as McDaniels is far better in this interview than anything I’ve heard from him.

If I wasn't sold on him completely before
I certainly am now. Good, honest, tough questions with great, honest, strong answers. I now see why Bowlen hired this guy.

It was nice to hear his sense of humor.
I think folks should listen to this for the “Talking Alfred Williams off the Ledge” section. It was great. Maybe it should be a regular segment on their show?

I liked how McDaniels was straightforward with his replies
Plus he said he loved Hillis’ skill set. That’s a step in the right directin :)
Thanks to Mike Shanahan, a great coach who will be dearly missed.
Hillis for starter next year. He wears special thigh pads so his solid brass balls don't give him repeated thigh contusions.

Thanks for the link to that interview. I was very pleased listening to him.
I cracked up when he talked Al “off the ledge” The best part of this interview is what Guru has mentioned before. All the yards we got and the lack of points that came with it. He is very committed to making this team better in every aspect of the team ( not that he wasn’t allready). It was just hard to look at anything other than the fiasco that was going on.
GO BRONCOS.

I love this Interview
I am completely sold on Mcdaniels vision now. I now see what the Broncos brain trust saw in this guy. His straight up knows football and tells it like it is(my favorite quality in a person). I love his points about how inefficient the offense was last year. Yes we were #2 in yards but the offense had a lot of problems also. Lets face it everyone. We were 8-8 last year and this team has a lot of needs. Fixing the defense is a priority but he also needs to fine tune the offense and fix special teams. I think he will do great things with the extra draft picks. He knows exactly what kind of player he wants and he will go out and get the player he wants. I think his vision for this team is great even without Cutler. I think Cutler was part of the problem at times last year and broncos fans at times are very forgiving. I highly recommend every bronco fan that is skeptical about McDaniels listen to this interview.

Really?
Would you have said “Cutler does know much about winning” two months ago?

Absolutely!!
the problem that he faces/faced, which isn’t his fault, is that playing for a perennial doormat like Vanderbilt creates a different expectation. At Vandy all that mattered was being exciting because no one expected them to win.
Unfortunately, many Broncos fans have lapsed into this same acceptance of mediocrity. How many fans would have been satisfied if we had backed into the playoffs at 8-8 is KC had beaten SD?
