With the #19 pick in the 2009 MHR Community Mock Draft, theTampa Bay Buccanneers select.... QB, JOSH FREEMAN, KANSAS ST.

Tampa Bay Buccanneers
Round 1, Pick #19 overall GM OrangeCrush4082

Details of the pick after the jump...
From GM OrangeCrush4082: I am not sold on the playmaking abilities of Luke McCown and Josh Johnson so I am going to go with the huge(6'5 3/8,257 pound) Josh Freeman,QB. Kansas State. I love his athleticism,14 rushing touchdowns in 2008, and his history with rookie Head Coach Raheem Morris, who was the defensive coordinator at Kansas State in 2006.
I had looked at Percy Harvin as a wideout, but its time for Michael Clayton and Antonio Bryant to step up and be a number one reciever and they need an outside linebacker, but many of the premier outside backers were already off the board. I feel the only logical choice for the Bucs is Josh Freeman to be this year's Joe Flacco
Commish's Thoughts: I don't know about any of you, but this just feels like a Buc pick to me. Leaving aside the old regime's prediliction for stacking QBs like cordwood around the facility, this has the marks of the Tampa Bay front office all over it: they are looking to upgrade on offense, and they aren't letting a team need force them into reaching with their #1.

ON THE CLOCK Detroit Lions (via Dallas Cowboys) are up next. The Lions opened things up with a bang by taking the top defensive player in the draft, so it will be interesting to see which way they look now.... The deadline for this pick is NOON MST, April 5th.. As long as I receive the pick by that time it will be valid. To send me the pick, just email me at the address shown in my profile. |

I could see Tampa Bay making this pick...
they need more competition at the QB position. I have this “gut feeling” Mike Vick might wind up in TB, eventually….
Beware the wrath of a patient adversary.
John C. Calhoun --

NEEDS A POLL STYG ha ha :)

Davis and Sharpe to the Hall!
Good point
Can’t say I’m “feeling it” on the poll, but then, I never am, so….

Ughhh!
Man, Josh Freeman should be avoided like the plague, apparently game tapes mean nothing anymore, he was awful in college, he wasn’t even the top QB in the Big 12 north, he wasn’t even top 3 in the north. I will guarentee this dude is out of the league in three years, all body no brains, Ryan Leaf version 09.

I have to say
for all my notes, lists and numbers, all that I had on Josh Freeman was Name, weight, height and expected 40time. Something tells me the analysts might be getting ahead of themselves in talking about him. Sometimes the third QB in a draft isn’t anything more than that. its ok to leave tehm where they were originally rnaked…

Akili Smith.
List of Prerequisites to be Denver Broncos QB:
1.Don’t EVER compare yourself to Elway, and we’ll make sure we don’t either. 10 years is enough time to heal.
2.Don’t make our ownership or management have to call YOU time after time.
3.Don’t piss off Mr. B, he signs your checks.
4. Try your best, we’ll support you if you leave 100% out on the field.
5.Neckbeards are REQUIRED as of 4.2.2009
