Tuesday Morning QB
I read that one yesterday. I think that it had some great points in it for Bronco Country. While prissy mayock has great football thoughts.
I disagree
King said we’d use our picks on defense, which pisses me off because he’s never right. So we’re probably going to do something stupid like draft freeman and Moreno.
Stupid King, why can’t you leave the broncos alone.

Read Aikman
Since nothing questioning McDaniels intentions was ever taken seriously here, I’ll be the one to say that Aikman’s take on the trade that should not have been is a “MUST READ.”
by HACK10 on Apr 8, 2009 7:40 AM MDT reply actions
Aikman is speculating and
it flies in the face of what every reporter who actually interviewed anyone has said. The trade went down that fast because when cutler refused to return Bowlen’s call, Bowlen pulled the plug.
I would buy the McDaniels conspiracy theories (at least partially) if anyone can give me an example of even one source who says McD initiated anything. Every report the implies he did are speculation when you read them (meaning there is no source who would have access to the information) while everyone who claims a source says the Broncos did not initiate.
On top of that, if McD wanted Cassel (or any other QB) why did they wait so long. The NE/KC deal was already in the works by Friday morning.
Get over it an move on.
Everyone is speculating....
over what went on between Cutler and McDaniels, McDaniels and other teams, and, for that matter, between McDaniels and Bowlen. Short of depositions, we will never know and sometimes people even lie in those!
I agree, it’s over and while we all have our biases, it just doesn’t matter any more. It would be fun if it was wrestling and we could figure out who is the clear winner and who is the loser next Fall, but I am not sure it will be all that clear even after the season is over. You will still be comparing apples and oranges, as all players and coaches will have full teams around them to share in the success or failure. Injuries happen, like last season, or don’t, and the team plays intact for the year. Your experiment will never be a double-blind study.
The good news here in Baltimore is that both the Bears and the Broncos will play the Ravens down the street here and it will be my laboratory to decide who I think came out of the situation in better shape. August can’t come soon enough.

I'm envious
Ravens are a great team to yardstick them with.

Like a bad "24 Hours"
I tried to watch the program once, but there were so many logical inconsistencies that it drove me bonkers and I could never think of trying it again. Yes, McD had it all planned perfectly: he just knew that Cutler would put up his and his parents’ Denver houses for sale, he just knew that Cutler wouldn’t return Bowlen’s (and his) phone calls. And of course telling everyone that he thought he could get the relationship back on track and holding up the #6 jersey on national tv – well, these were just ploys to give him plausible deniability later – he just knew Cutler would never be taken in.
If McD planned in this way all along, I would most certainly agree that he was an idiot!
it's pretty genius
that they were able to get 2 firsts, a third, and a starting QB for a disgruntled QB who was probably going to be traded anyway
i think it’s brilliant
Speaking of Plots
What about the slam on BJ Raji? Conspiracy to move him down in the draft?
My Dad told me about the 4 seasons:
Pre-season
Regular-season
Post-season
Off-season
A league source...
Told me that some he guy talked to in the men’s room, knows Raji’s mother’s second cousin and she said…..I started the rumor so he would fall to #12. There now I’ve said it.
I believe
it was the second cousin’s dog who was the one to finally speak up about Raji’s shortcomings.
But to be serious — Raji’s failed drug test story is interesting because I and most of us here assumed it was true. And because of that his stock has fallen. And yet now it sounds like it was all bogus.

Hey, if it helps hm fall down to Denver’s first spot and they don’t have concerns about his character, fine by me.
Well I will be interested
to see how Campbell works out in Washington. I do respect the fact that he did show up in Redskins camp after knowing the team wanted someone else. Seems like he is handling it quite well for the moment.

Loved Reeves, I wish he had been able to patch the relationship with Elway and get a ring, he deserved one, and he deserves to be in the HOF for his entire career, I don’t know anyone who has been in more SBs, won more, or been in more playoff games as player/coach than Reeves, he obviously gets overlooked due to his losses, but he took some pretty average teams and made them very good.

That's something we both agree on
Reeves was a winner through and through. I can’t think of any coach he did more with less and always did it with class.
