Champ is still a champ
hen you get a new head coach, they don’t keep the same (assistant) head coaches around. They get their own guys. The same goes for players. It’s a business and it’s like that. I mean, I can compare Jay Cutler’s situation to when I got traded. He’s coming off one Pro Bowl season. I came off four, and I got traded. Really, when I look at it, I could have gotten mad about it….So, I know how this thing goes and I wish people would understand that it’s a business. You can’t get your ego caught up in this thing."

I have nothing but respect for Mr. Bailey.
With as much talent as he has, he could be a real prima dona. But he isn’t. He’s a deep thinker and a straight shooter. Young players ought to stay close to him and just listen and learn.
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

Champ = mature professional
Jay = the opposite of that. But he’s young, maybe some day he’ll have more of a Champ outlook on things.
thanks for the perspective check, Champ! {as I proudly hold up my #24 jersey}

My two favorite NFL players are now on the same team.
Champ and Dawkins. And its not because they’re both the best in the NFL at what they do on the field. They are the best at their positions, but they have the class and mature wisdom that goes with true eliteness.

Not another Ohio State RB!!
Missing a flight; INEXCUSABLE!
It seems Mr. Beanie is just another chip of the Ohio State-Running Backs-who have No Integrity-block (Ala Maurice-Clarett).
I sure hope we are NOT the team that drafts this Bust-Waiting-To-Happen!!

We already have 10 injury plagued RB’s we don’t need another

a blessing in disguise
I’m kinda glad he blew that one, have really been hoping the Broncos stay away from him. I’m more worried about his injury prone nature than his character, I don’t think he’s Maurice Clarett but would rather the Chargers draft him. ;-)

I hope that's not our first pick
i’ve seen jackson falling to us 18 on quite a few boards and I’ve got a few LSU friends that say he is really more high 2nd round talent.

Thanks for the Traks NYC
good stuff funny to see people think the raiders are the model of anything other than chaos but I guess they are pretty stable, they have had how many double digit seasons now? 5 not bad really, oh…wait… I had the numbers turned around those are double digit loss season well they are nothing but consistent right?

Defensive line prospects
Those guys all sound good. How does someone decide among these possibilities?
by NDbronco on Apr 9, 2009 10:55 AM MDT reply actions 0 recs
Brian Orakpo
This guy seems like a beast and someone we could easily get with our 18th pick. I haven’t seen him on a mock draft here. What’s the problem? Doesn’t fit the system? Just looking to be informed if anyone knows.
by NDbronco on Apr 9, 2009 11:10 AM MDT reply actions 0 recs
Don't think he'll be around
Some have him going as high as 3 or 4, but nobody has him lasting until 18. He’ll be a top ten pick most likely, from what I’ve seen.

Orakpo
On this top 100 draft choices he’s 19th overall. He’s below Everette Brown. Do you think that DEs will be picked up right away? I would think some teams ahead of us have other needs. But, I’m a dummy when it comes to this draft pick stuff.
by NDbronco on Apr 9, 2009 11:41 AM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
He is a beast and freak of nature.
And if you want versatility…. look no further.
But in regards to getting him with our 18th – keep dreaming. There is no way this guy falls out of the top 10 as allBallD addressed.

I don't understand Bill Williamson in that ESPN piece
First he says: “There’s no way the Broncos should trade up that high if it means giving up both the 12th and 18th overall picks. Sure, Denver could get a top-five pick in return, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk — even for a quarterback.” And THEN he says “I do think Denver needs to find a way to get Sanchez….. I like the idea of Denver drafting Sanchez so much, I could see the Broncos trading up a few spots — as long as it doesn’t cost them the 18th pick to get him.” So hold on to that 18 pick but they should still trade up to get Sanchez, even though they shouldn’t and probably can’t but they should but… Jeezus, Bill.

Do we blame the author or the one who reads it?

by Blackshirt4Broncos on Apr 9, 2009 11:45 AM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
What?
I have pretty good reading comprehension skills. My point is BW contradicted himself a bit in that chat, or at the very least wasn’t clear on what he thought the Broncos should do. So, yes, I will blame the author, thanks.
by underdog on Apr 9, 2009 8:31 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think his joke didn't come across.
I think he was joking around that you realy shouldn’t be reading the guy’s stuff. Like much humor in print, it may not have come across the way it was meant. I make the mistake all the time of not reading stuff in the right context.

I was indeed referring to BW.
Thanks for catching that HT.
It is not so much that nobody should read BW’s stuff – it is just that we must always remember who the author is and who HIS intended audience is. I’ve read enough posts and comments on here that I feel comfortable saying that pieces like that by BW have no audience at MHR.
All these initials…
To be clear – I agreed with you Dashiell – I do not understand BW either. As you so eloquently put it, “Jeezus, Bill.”

if we take him, i will flip out. any first round offensive player should be a RB… i would go all defense with the first three picks, or trade down

Raiders.....Stability
Maybe on the wrong end of the scale. I know the AFC West was a joke last year, however just because the division was won with an 8-8 record doen’t mean the Raiders will be successfull.
The Raiders haven’t been this safe and sane in some time, from retaining head coach Tom Cable to taking care of their own free agents. For once, they can sit back and smile as all the drama unfolds elsewhere in the division.
Watch things unfold elsewhere? Safe? Well, I guess a few months of the offseason is along time for being safe in Oakland. Let’s see if Cable is still the HC a few years from now. As long as Al Davis is the owner, something will always come up……just wait.

you would hold a mirror up to their mouth, to see if they are breathing.
But its too freaky holding the mirror up to Al and not seeing his reflection in it…. o.O

The Raiders
could very well be better soon, just based on having some very good players here and there. But if that happens it will be more despite Davis than because of him. In short they are still making just as many questionable personnel moves (and we haven’t even seen their draft yet). And I’m not really convinced that Tom Cable is anything other than a halfway decent assistant thrust into a head coaching position because he’s one of the few who Davis tolerates and who plays nice with Al. They still have a bad OL very little at WR and I’m not sure what their plan is on defense. But yes, other than that, they are in really good shape.
