Trade Up for Arron Curry?
Cheifs host Maualuga Thursday, Could trade down
In what can only be considered a move before the Kansas City Chiefs trade down in the NFL Draft, the team will host USC linebacker Ray Maualuga Thursday, according to Profootballtalk.com. The report quoted a an unnamed league source.
Maualuga is regarded as one of the top prospects at inside linebacker, but it would be a major surprise if he were a top five (or even a top ten) selection.
Maualuga's other visits include trips to see the Browns, Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, Falcons, Saints, 49ers, and Rams.

So the question is do we trade up for Arron Curry? I happen to believe he might be one of the only can't miss prospects in this years draft. What do we give up? Is it worth it? Will he command too much money? Your thoughts....

I'm interested in the personal politics of such a move
What is McDaniels relationship like with Scott Pioli? You can bet these two won’t want to do each other any favors, being in the same division and all. Seems like any draft-day deal with the Chiefs is unlikely…

I doubt this happens.
Broncos are salary cap rich, but cash poor. We will be looking to conserve money this year, which means we do not trade up, nor do we sign a first round QB.

Is Curry
even a good fit in a 3-4? It seems to me like he would be an ideal mlb in a 4-3. Doesn’t a mlb in a 3-4 have to be a little bigger? ala Maualuga.

No way
great player, but linebacker isnt even our greatest need, hes also just a decent pass rsuher, so he would play inside. He benefits much better as a 4-3 SAM.

No trading up!
Not for Curry. Not for Raji. And DEFINITELY not for Sanchez,
I think we should stand pat.
I wouldn’t even quibble with trading down or trading for future picks. But I don’t see anything worth the risk of trading up this year. Just my thinking.

Agreed
With all of our needs, SOMETHING has to look good when #12 and #18 roll around. Work the phones and see what everyone else thinks those picks are worth, and then, most likely, take the best fit you can find. If we play our cards right we will have 2 of the top twenty players in the draft. Nothing wrong with that.

Since this draft looks like it has a ton of good but not elite players,
I’d really love to find a way to move back from #12 for a pick in the 20s plus a 2nd or even 3rd.
