The Raffle winners were determined by counting every comment in the open threads as an entry, and then ten winners were drawn (by my lovely wife). Naturally, prolific commenters, and lucky commenters had the best chance, which is fine, since we wanted to promote open thread activity with this contest anyways.
The winner's raffle was determined by pooling all the "correct calls" in the open threads (there weren't very many, let me tell you...), and drawing one winner out. All the raffle winners will have some commemorative Draftivus goodies coming to them.
Here is a big MileHighSalute to all the Draftivus Winners! Please send your mailing info to mhr.contests@gmail.com in order to receive your very special 2009 Draftivus winner-only swag! This wraps up Draftivus 2009, hope you all had fun with it!

Somebody picked Schlueter
and in the right spot too. I don’t recall if it was you or not, but it probably was.

next year
we should make more points for later round picks, those are just flat out snipes compared to first round guys who are often projected there.

Ya i think I should have won
Even tho i didn’t pick one guy right in our 7 round mock. But I digest.
HILLIS
styg - did you compute all these by hand?
Just wondering if we might be able to automate some of the score calculation, maybe with a program or at least a pre-formulated spreadsheet? (I’m guessing you had something along those lines…) If you did this all by hand I can’t imagine you’d be thrilled to do it again next year ;) Maybe you had a good system worked out, though. I’m just thinking out loud, I am a nerd like that, forgive me I can’t help it.
Thanks again for making all this possible.
"according to the map, we've only gone 4 inches"
I thought I would get like 20 entries total
Needless to say I wasn’t prepared. I scored the 7round mock by hand and the Top twelve by hand, and set up a spreadsheet for several of the factors in the 1st round mock. It was a terrific learning experience, especially evaluating the scoring system (and discovering the potential for brute forcing it). There are a number of interesting things I would have liked to add into the operation, and I am all for getting some nerds on board to help out!

Hey
I was just happy to be a part of it all. I had great fun and the comraderie of this support group is one of the many things that make this place happen!
My Dad told me about the 4 seasons:
Pre-season
Regular-season
Post-season
Off-season
he said support group...
My roots are in Denver and my branches in Nebraska.

Yeehawww
I didn’t even realize I was eligible! Thanks for all the fun, guys. As I mentioned in my fanshot, it just added more layers to what is already the best sports fan experience on the interweb!

all the comments in every thread are numbered
I just had my wife draw names out of a hat. She said, “Oh cool, someone from Montana!” (I’m from Idaho, so we are both pretty familiar with MT).
Of interest on the drawings is that we would only take a name once, even if it came up multiple times. This was an example of “Broncoman’s revenge”….We drew his name at least ten times…

yeah
I’m happy to win in the first round mock even though somehow I forgot to include Aaron Curry in my entry
you also finished
4th, tied with Steve O’ on the 7 round mock. I actually had you and Steve O’ sharing third place on that contest until I remembered that gnarlybroncodude found the “secret player” and had applied his bonus 10 pts to the 7 round mock.

A rare win!
Although I cannot believe I won – a few spot on picks worked their magic! I have never won anything in my life – except for geography bees and math contests. 8-)
I am very excited for my Hillis T, and am inspired to do my best to ensure I wear it at a game this year. If I get killed at the Oakland Coliseum for it, y’all have to come to my funeral!
I actually enjoyed the process, got me a little bit more in touch with where the other teams in the league are. And actually I threw in a lot of “system” picks that I thought were kinda reaches – for whatever that is worth. Seems like many teams (unlike the Broncos) focused on filling “needs” rather than grabbing the best player available.
Thanks to Styg for hosting this fun event and putting in the many hours of results tabulation. If you did it all by hand, lemme know. Next year we gotta automate it up! Is there an Top NFL Geek award I can win?
hmmm...
I replied but it seems to be lost…
I mentioned that you had a very impressive entry, in that it wasn’t top heavy with “10’s” (right player to the right team at the right spot). I think you had maybe 7 or so, which was typical of the above average scores. Where you really got ahead was getting players very close to where there overall draft value was (+/-2 from their final spot), and having the least number of “washouts” (players like Reyrey who didn’t get taken in the first, and thus scored zero points at their slot).
All in all a very solid all around entry, and very deserving of top honors!

That's the first time I've honorable mentioned since I was discharged from the Navy!
Congrats to all the winners and watch out next year because I threw my old crystal ball in the river and I’ve got myself a new one! Heh, heh…13-3 Baby!!! Thanks styg for the great time we had, and gettting our mind off of all the goings on, I tip my Jack Daniels shot glass to you…
