"Well what if 6"... "Turn out be 9"... "I don't mind!"

Curious how a link I saw at this site this morning in regards to Adam Schefter ranking the Broncos #29 in Football Organizations among NFL teams disappeared.Help me out here, fans. Too many mushrooms in my Kool Aid? However, I know I am not hallucinating, because one quote from Schefter struck my heart with a dart. To the best of my recollection, he stated that, " Josh McDaniels has ruined this team.", relating to what has transpired in Dove Valley since his installment as HC. As I recall, Schefter went on to support his assertion by alluding to the "C.....r" situation, the darft, FA, & any other thread of an issue he could grasp on to support his hypothesis. Never reserved about "piling on", he summarized his observations by concluding that  BroncoNation is in seige over an epidemic of "Poor Morale". I am so immune to the MSM. A bunch of talking heads connected to stuffed shirts who regurgitate the things that unnamed sources utter in obscure darkness. I f they say, "Go North!", I go South in a hurry.

Let it be so. Let's take the bull by the horns, Adam. Let's address your points of contention about the Broncos moves under McD mano a mano.

First ,& foremost of all, let's put "C....r" to bed. He didn't want to be in Denver. McD made the best match & trade possible, both for Jay & the Broncos. I commend the organization for this classy & cerebral move. Denver could have sent Jay packing to the netherworld of Detroit for more booty, but instead reunited Boy Blunder with his childhood fantasy team. It pascified the baby & retreived earmarked talent in return. A rare win,(so Da Bears think.), win situation. Let's see how well Jay operates behind a patchwork line with pedestrian receivers & a gameplan, roster,& coaching staff not built around him. What if 6, turn out be 9? The MSM turned upside down?

I believe that the indelible imprint Coach will impact  on this 09 edition of the Bronco team will be the result of a spinoff side effect from a draft day trade that was "puro cojones", which was another controversey Schefter had issue with. The drafting of Alfonso Smith in Rd. #2 with next years #1 from the Bears was controversial enough. But what kind of idiot are you, Josh? Why didn't you trade your natural pick? My kind of idiot! The kind of idiot who believes his team will go 11-5 this year when the Bears go 6-10, against all prognostications from the "experts" like Schefter. The pick was more than justified. It was a statement that galvanized the team. "Coach believes in us!" That was textbook cast iron leadereship. If you don't think that kind of confidence can't infectiously permeate a locker room, then you haven't been in one. This is the kind of coach that players will rally around, listen to, & give their all for. I have to wonder out loud how morale can be down when each & every remaining player on the roster knows he has a chance to start if he can only produce. Put me in Coach, I'm ready to play, today. I haven't even mentioned  what I think the Fonze will do, but don't get me started, don't even get me started. He & Ayers may be Co DROY.  What if 6, turn out be 9? The MSM turned upside down?

Another bone of contention with Schefter concerning the draft was the selection of Knowshon Moreno at #12 while the team had gaping holes in it's defense & had already invested heavily in acquiring running backs through free agency prior to the pick. See how easy they are to lose? Arrington is gone before he even took a regular season snap. By the way, I believe we will need all that remain. The MSM perception is that McD is a QB guru, ( which he is), & nothing more. On the contrary, truth is, Coach really loves to pound the rock, rather than sling it all around. Don;t be surprised if your 2008 Broncos rush for 2400 yds & dominate TOP in all of their wins. Knowshon may be your OROY. As for the gaping holes in the defense, I would like to refer all fans who haven't read SWG's epic post on 5-2 defenses to do so. It truly is a revelation & answers many of the questions that may have been occupying the Bronco defensive hemisphere of your cerebral cortex  this offseason. Very quietly, Denver has been able to address their masked defensive needs through FA, the draft, & changes in scheme. Honostly, prior to the draft, I stated that if the Broncos didn't use their first 5 picks from the draft on defense, I would jump from the ledge. McD & you all have talked me down. Not only did Coach & Xman make the best available picks, they also manuevered adroitly to make sure the picks matched a need as well. Each action & decision has produced manifold results on multiple levels. The net result is a Bronco team that is better, not worse. So what if 6, turn out be 9? The MSM turned upside down?I don't mind. I don't mind.
