Brandon Marshall, look at all the evidence.

This is my first "fanpost" mainly because I like to relax outside the box looking in at what everyone else posts and there are usually extremely well written articles. I have not seen any posts on the recent interview Marsh had on ESPN's OTL so I decided to write one. Just so i can vent because this topic infuriates me beyond belief.

Now I will go as far as to say Brandon Marshall is 100% innocent of the charges brought against him from his ex Rasheedah Watley. After watching her segment on OTL I felt absolutely no remorse or any sort of feeling which would tell me "Wow, she's had it rough...", in fact I felt the complete opposite! She was more suspicious to me then B-M was when he gave his interview afterwards for a couple of reasons. A.) Her stories do not line up. B.) She portrayed herself as an innocent angel C.) Her segment was taped, to me this says "We have 15 minutes and we need to make this as emotional as it can get, so shed a few tears why dont cha". I will go into all three points in a second, but first i want to take a little time and go over the taping of Rasheedah Watley's story.
The video starts and the beginning is basically the 13 years Brandon and Rasheedah had known each other for, then if goes on to talk about how Brandon changed when he and Watley moved in together, she accuses Brandon of randomly chocking her at night and then shortly after says they were arguing. Watley never reported this incident to police, and was one of the many un reported events which occured between Watley and Marshall. There had been 7 different reports of "alleged" domestic violence, according to the amazing job of ESPN's secretive PI's. The first incident was reported in 2006 around the time Brandon was drafted by the Broncos. The incident was first reported by Marshall, stating Watley had become jealous over another woman and began "scratching, slapping and punching" Brandon inside their Orlando apartment, Watley on the other hand who filed her own report by phone and three days after said Marshall "slapped her in the face and pushed her to the ground". She never filed charges and gave Marshall "another chance". The taping goes on and follows the entire taxi incident for which Marshall was jailed on False Imprisonment and Battery charges, his excuse was that he wanted to retrieve his BlackBerry which Watley had stolen. The one thing that stuck out to me was that when their talking about the Betsy Klein phone call, Watley's mother at 7:46 for those who want to watch this on ESPN, it was as if she was forcing herself to say "Brandon had obviously hit her, assaulted her..."  Essentially Betsy called the Watley family to tell them that Rasheedah needed to forgive Brandon. How moronic does that sound? In 2007, they moved in an Atlantic condo. The next month, according to Watley she grabbed a kitchen knife during a heated argument. She goes on to say "He came at me, we wrestled, next thing I knew my leg was bleeding like crazy..." In the police report it says, Marshall cut her in the right thigh and punched her in the forehead. In addition to calling the police she called her best friend, Kristeena Spivey who drove Watley to the hospital in Atalantic. Around 6 A.M as Watley and Spivey were leaving the condo, Spivey spotted Marshall in his SUV and proceeded to block his car. Marshall in turn responded by ramming the back of the car, getting out and grabbing a rock. Spivey was with a dispatcher so it was recorded and can be hear on the OTL special from ESPN for those of you that care to hear it. ESPN showed two photos, one of the damage to the car which was a dent and a couple long scratches to the drivers door and the second picture was that of Watley's stiching. After the incident, Watley's lawyers sent an e-mail for $100,000 so that she would not press charges. A year earlier Watley's attorneys sent Marshall a similar letter requesting $500,000. She sent a letter to Goodell saying Marshall had never abused her. At the very end she does her one last cry for help and say "someone has to stop him because no one has, not the NFL not the Atlanta police department.." and i would like to say to Watley if all of this did actually happen then why didnt you stop him? Moving on.
A.) Her stories do not line up, the photos that Watley is using as evidence against Marshall are not accurate, Marshall in his interview with Bob Ley said that his attorney's have subpoenaed a police officer to testify on Marshall's behalf that Watley did NOT have any marks on her face the very next day when she came into court for a warrant. Watley says there had been incidents between her and Marshall that were never reported. Why would you never report someone if they beat you and slapped you and physically abused you? The story with the knife and the two wrestling and then somehow her right thigh was slashed by Marshall is another one that does not line up because in the interview with Marshall he says that she had told the police that she had accidentally cut herself, she also told them that she and Marshall had a verbal dispute however no physical contact ensued. The very first incident between Watley and Marshall in 2006 according to the very first story from Watley, Brandon's sister threw a phone at Watley's head cutting her above the eye and punched her in the face, resulting in a black eye. A month later Vienna Watley called in changin the original testimony, this time saying it was Brandon not Brandon's sister who had done those things.
B.) The second reason as to why i do not believe Watley's story is because the entire time, she is trying to portray herself as the victim, not once throughout the entire taping did i hear her say "I made a mistake, however he....." she always played the victim in every single event, she never said "We should not have blocked his car at 6 in the morning".
C.) This is a very weak argument for me to get through to people, but when segments are taped, the people who direct them and produce them want something emotional and powerful to fill the specified amount of time. Sometimes it does not matter if the emotion is real or not. The entire taping was probably longer then 15 minutes but they took the best parts and compiled it to have a razzle dazzle effect and to me that's where this kind of stuff looses its effect. This kind of razzle dazzle is good when your trying to showcase some young athlete who did something amazing, like saved a granny from the railroad tracks because she could not see where she was going. But for the things that have two stories to them (i.e. Watley-Marshall) it looses its purpose.

Final Thoughts:I dont really care if no one agrees with me on anything i just said, but the main point i want EVERYONE to understand is "Look at all the evidence!" Yes, there are things that Marshall cannot deny (i.e. bashing Spivey's car with a rock, harassing the Taxi driver for his cellphone, picking terrible life companions) but to me it doesnt change the main point which is "Did Marshall put his hands on Watley?" and to me the answer is simply No, too many counter arguments for the stories Watley puts out there and too many holes. I understand when you are in an abusive relationship its extremely difficult to get out of it and break the habit because you feel like you have no place else to go and that things will get better, but Watley seems to be doing fine! she has her own little business and shes somewhat of a looker. She doesnt seem to be distraught because she split up with Marshall. I have met a plethora of women who are worse then most of my guy friends, some of the things they do are just plain idiotic. Its possible for this woman to be a gold digger just as much as its possible for Brandon to have put his hands on her. I still say no, and the thing i loved most about Brandon is this line "As a professional athlete, there's a certain standard you should uphold," he said. "Me being in the NFL, there's a certain image I have to protect. Every day I put in the back of my mind that the NFL shield not only represents me but everyone involved in it."thats from the Denver Post. I do not approve of domestic violence but i do not approve of blackmail and deceit either. I apologize in advance for my English, it is a difficult language to comprehend.
