DP - Broncos' Marshall misses workout, meets with Bowlen
According to Klis, BMarsh met with Pat Bowlen and then left Dove Valley with some packed boxes, whatever that means. Apparently Marshall is unwilling to be treated by Denver's medical staff while his contract situation is unaddressed. Just keep in mind folks - we have very few facts here, and perhaps none from Marshall's meeting with Bowlen.
DB - Mini-Camp: McDaniels - Broncos TV
Josh McDaniels addresses the Brandon Marshall situation, saying the Broncos will play offense with or without BMarsh. McDaniels says Marshall is doing everything the organization is asking of him in his rehab from hip surgery. Chris Kuper has been excused from minicamp to get married, and the Broncos practiced dealing with crowd noise by blasting a staffers' iPod.
DB - Installed and Operating - Broncos TV
Chris Hall reports from minicamp on the progress of Kyle Orton and Chris Simms.
DB - 'Tip of the Iceberg'
Gray Caldwell wrapped up the day's practice and gets a quote from newly-signed (seventh-round pick) center Blake Schlueter.
DB - A Different Beat
Zach Eisendrath offers notes from practice.
DP - McDaniels in no hurry to name No. 1 QB
LJones' notes from minicamp.

Thanks as always
for the links!
(Btw, no criticism of linking to them, but what is… What If Sports, and why should we care about their AFC West predictions? Should I be worried? ;-) )

Good question...
I found it through FOX, as it’s connected to MSN. I think they do simulations and show what their results say…not sure if it’s in any way relevant…
I was actually thinking about this during the yoga class my wife and I were just at. Wow, that is a problem…haha

About Whatifsports....
Did you read this on the Chiefs from that article. I have a question. Do they think Pioli is actually the coach as well as the GM? Seriously, do they?
Biggest Strength: Scott Pioli, GM – We should find out rather quickly just how much Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli meant to each other in New England. I am a believer in Pioli for the simple reason that his resume includes the Patriots’ success, which means that veteran players want to play for him and young players will listen to him. Particularly on defense, which is switching to the 3-4 from the 4-3, the Chiefs already look vastly improved under Pioli. An upgrade has also been made at quarterback. Kansas City appears to be in good hands. The Chiefs are not a playoff team yet, but they may not be too far away.
The love for Pioli is palpable and cannot be fully deserved by any GM who spends, or should spend, ZERO time on the field and in meetings.
This kind of puts the rest of it in perspective and I am always suspect of writers that are more concerned with fantasy numbers than anything else.

Oh and I forgot the other gem..
I forgot about this remark too….. can we all say nyperbole?

Doesn’t Haley and the staff and the players have anything to do with his predictions? Is it Pioli’s coaching, play calling or game planning that he finds has made all the difference … so far?
Thanks for the humor this early in the day.

I love how they don't have us favored at home agasint the Chiefs or the raiders
and how they say that we’re only favored in 2 games in a schedule with “only” 7 playoff teams. So our schedule is easy now? Good, because it was making me worried.

Their little matchup thing is retarded as well.
It told me that the 1986, 1987, and 1989 Broncos would almost always beat the 1998 Broncos (Even when 1998 was set as the “home” team) and that the ’97 Packers would beat the ’97 Broncos in San Diego by an average score of 45-17.

QB is what really matters
Good QBs (Like Cassel appears to be) are usually in the playoffs.
That said, Cassel has gotta prove he can play outside of the NE system.
And, yes, that article does make it appear as if Pioli is the coach. He’s on the field all the time and reportedly works out with all the players and is always around at practices, etc. But he’s not the coach (as far as I know :))

Basically answers my question
No, we shouldn’t care about What If’s opinion. :-)

What do you think?
Should we go out and get a Pioli? Do they sell them at 31 Flavors, or do you have to go to a fancy Italian Restaurant to get one.

Dawkins wasn't even mentioned as a significant addition
No wonder we performed so badly: we’re playing with only 10 men on defense!

Great timing by LJones & the DP
They run that story the morning of the day McD announces the starter.

dashiell
umm yes you should be worried
broncos lost one of the best and youngest qb in the league
and ortons starting
that should keep you from sleeping
let alone the brandon marshall situation and the lack of moves to transition from a 4-3
to a 3-4 defense

These have been discussed and answered.
As for the Chiefs, I think they should focus on catching up to Denver and SD and staying ahead of Oakland. For all of the controversy in Denver, KC hasn’t mangaged to be a division threat for some time.
We’re sleeping fine over here.

I said I wasn't worried about the opinion
of one poorly written article, not that I have no worries about the Broncos at all. :-)
Their defense will be a LOT better. That it will be better is not going out on a limb but I think it’s going to be better. Their running game will be a lot better. Their OL is intact. Yes they are downgrading a lot at QB, but very possibly less than people think. What worries me most is their schedule, frankly. So I have worries, but I’m not going to lose sleep over them.
