Contracts?
When did players under contracts gain so much leverage in the NFL? It almost seems as if the Broncos are the ones under contract and the players are the ones deciding whats going to happen.

Can Jack Williams kick FGs?
It’s great to hear that Jack Williams is playing well.
It’s not surprising to hear that Prater is missing kicks. That guy got considerably worse as the 2008 season wore on to the point he couldn’t even hit is PATs by week 17. The Coach should be charged with a felony (gross negligence) for not signing someone to compete with this clown.

I didn't get that prater was missing kicks
where do you get that? I thought they were just citing his stats from last season.

The DDN article
Said something about Prater being only 70% in the Toro drill

I haven't read the article yet...
…but the Toro drill isn’t your average, run-of-the-mill fieldgoal kick.

McD is obviously more confident in his players than you are.

Nice to hear that #80 dropped by
I’m glad that Rod feels welcome on the sidelines. Maybe all this talk about Patriots West was premature.

'Backers
Finally hearing something on the OLBs ! Crowder seems to be progressing well, I like Ayers at olb more than de and Elvis and Reid seem like good fits on the outside. I’m pumped, cant wait for training camp! However, the only bad thing is that I’m not hearing Moss’ name, I thought he would be a beast as an outside backer! Maybe we’ll see something at training camp. Anyways, good job as always NYC, thanks!

He was mentioned in yesterdays notes
A few days ago, the defensive line used a JUGS machine to practice swatting passes at the line of scrimmage. It seems to be an effective drill, as several balls were knocked down at Saturday’s practice. Jarvis Moss twice made the play.
Not huge news, but at least it sounds like he is using his size to finally make some plays at the line of scrimmage.
Lady, you want me to answer you if this old airplane is safe to fly? Just how in the world do you think it got to be this old?

The UFL could be interesting.
I don’t remember where I heard it, though I think it was on local radio here in Vegas, that UFL players will not have exclusive contracts. That means that they can be ‘called up’ to NFL rosters during the season. The NFL could definitely benefit from a high quality minor league that keeps viable veterans playing, young college players developing, creates another path for unorthodox talents to advance, and is a place for once promising college talents who washed out due to academics or other issues to redeem themselves.
One of my pet peeves is the current system demands that a guy who may be a god on the football field but an idiot in the classroom needs to attend college to get to the NFL. Besides leading to scandals in the NCAA, it’s fundamentally unfair to young people that are good at one thing but not another. It’s not like we ask our top high-schoolers in math or science to play football at MIT or Harvard as a pre-requisite to careers as engineers, computer programmers, geneticists, etc. etc. etc.
The UFL could provide another route of opportunity.

It is True
The NFL could use some kind of Farm System.
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.

Glad to hear about Williams
I just posted a few days ago about how I was really rooting for him to make the team. The guy reminds me of DWill.
