What makes MHR so special?
This is your chance to tell your story. Why you came to MHR, why you stayed at MHR and why you enjoy MHR. My story is a bit of a interesting one but worth a little time reading. Then, I want to hear your stories in the comment section!
I stumbled on MHR in 2006 looking for a good breakdown of our defense. I found it and so more. It took me a year to realize I could actually be a member so my start date is 2007. That being said I have learned a lot over the last 3 years and enjoy all the new posters and people who have joined. When you have intelligent conversations, thought out well written posts and great people there is no reason to leave. To top it off there are opportunities afforded us here like no other.
Example:
I had the privlidge this past weekend to have lunch with some great gentlemen. First Fan and Arctic Bronco. Both live up here with the other Frozen Chosen in Alaska but we had never met. The conversation was great the food great and the memory priceless. First Fan and I are a liitle different in age. He has seen many seasons while I have not had that privildge. Arctic too is a little more seasoned than myself but these two gentlemen treated me as an equal in Broncodom! THIS IS WHY I AM WTH MHR!
lets hear your stories!

Hi, my name is RevrendBronco... and I am an MHRaholic...
I would like to thank Mr. Jay Cutler for introducing me to MHR. It was through his amazing and selfless leadership this offseason that I came across this site and have been hooked ever since. Here is why MHR is a regular staple in my daily diet…
1. Mature and Respectful debate.
2. Informed discussion.
3. Amazing analysis… much better perspective than anywhere else, period.
4. It’s all Bronco’s… all the time. Awesome!

I also owe "he whose name cannot be spoken"..
for my happening onto MHR. Now I don’t go to the DP unless I my interest is piqued by Horse Tracks. My life is more fulfilled for finding MHR. Thank you! Also, would like to meet up with any Utah Bronco’s fans.

Ditto!
I came to be a member here the same way and have never looked back. It’s a daily diet and quite often I consume it multiple times a day. And as for the reasons why…. well, I can’t say it any better or more succinctly than Reverend, so I won’t even try. I’ll just say “ditto” to 1 – 4 and add on a very heartfelt “thanks” to MHR and its wonderful community of fellow Broncos fans!

I started using MHR as a reference point on the draft. At first I didn’t even bother reading comments and such, just assuming that this place would be run through with trolls like every other place out there. I used to have a pretty strict and self imposed policy of not engaging in any discussion at all because my experience was that it was totally counterproductive, pointless, and disproportionately frustrating.
I love watching new people come on and struggle with the same phenomenon I did early on: I was probably more strident and inflammatory than need be at first— sort of a pre-emptive defense mechanism, maybe—, and it took awhile to trust that, for the most part, I was engaging honest, logical and reasonable people. I came in with the assumption that the figurative apple couldn’t fall too far from the tree and that ultimately this would prove to be another dime a dozen forum for people incapable of an original thought or who seemed to get a charge out of antagonizing and insulting perfect strangers in an environment completely void of accountability.
Obviously I caught the bug, largely because MHR combines great information with a group of knowledgable regulars who have solid football minds combined with a passion for the Denver Broncos. Its a nice thing to find when you’re miles from home and surrounded by people who don’t give a rat’s behind about the NFL or the Denver Broncos.

I found MHR shortly after I deployed in late 2006
Maintaining connectivity with great people back home who shared the basic human need to cheer for the best franchise in sports really helped me out while I was overseas. It is just icing on the cake that this site is also a rabid anti-raiders haven, perhaps we are like Sherlock Holmes and we need a Dr. Moriarty to define ourselves.
Jon, being able to have lunch with you and FirstFan was great, looking forward to the next one or to getting together to watch a game this fall. Last year I was able to link up with FirstFan and Danver to watch the Pats and the Miami games.
I agree, Larsen shouldn’t get any bigger. I am getting tired of his bone crushing hits knocking the pixels off my TV, once they fall to the floor they are very hard to find.

I share the similarities of
the good Revrend and PdO. It was around the same time that our former QB troubles began. I would regularly peruse Yahoo, SI, that E station site, DB.com and anywhere else I could get my “fix.” I stumbled across an interesting headline that grabbed my attention and followed the link to happiness. I read from the sidelines for a couple of weeks, until I couldn’t contain myself any longer and had to make a comment. Upon retrospection, I could have used a little more seasoning, but I’ve grown here.
That said, I live in the N/E side of Colorado Springs and would welcome any fellowship opportunities with any one here. I don’t drink any longer, but I’ll buy you one. Lunch or a gameday would be cool.

I found a link to this site and post by Hoosier Teacher
After that I was hooked. I hadn’t seen any such detail about schemes etc. before and while I analyze football games fairly well, I had no idea the depth I was missing. I didn’t actually become an active member till Shanahan was fired, just by accident really. I always enjoyed reading the comments to posts and the give and take seemed civilized most of the time. Now I am passionate about reading every day. The content of some posts is such superior writing that I am constantly stimulated to do the same. Styg’s post on character, as an example, could be disseminated in many other forums than a football site. Mostly I like my narrow field of view (with my preconceptions) broadened by the incredible diversity of opinion possessed by the other members of MHR. I consider continuous learning to be one of my life’s most important functions and this site offers me the opportunity to do just that. Thanks to all of you who post and comment and make my time here at MHR so enjoyable. I will always be a passionate Broncos fan through thick and thin, coaching changes and whatever drama can be cooked up to challenge my hopes and aspirations for this team.

Tis the fault of he who must not be named
Even before CutlerRama and McD and the Funky Bunch butted heads, i was a fanatical Dp/Si/Espn/Yahoo/Fox/etc… wanderer. But when it all went down earlier this year, I couldn’t find anyone who seemed to know anything for real(thank you Bus Cook!). So I started doing google searches for Broncos Forums, and came upon this and Predom. Orange. Nothing against them, but this one just blew me away. I’ve recommended it to my family and other Broncos supporters(the very few I know) and have been an addict ever since. It’s the first site I go to in the morning, the last at night, and, sadly, probably fifteen times throughout the day in hopes of a new thread or new news. I can truly say this is the best sports website I have ever had the privelidge of reading. Thanks guys for all the great info and the Radio rocks!

Good one Jon!
I started lurking around during the off-season in 2008. I checked DenverBroncos.com daily, for “official” news, but I quickly found that the official team site was too controlled and, of course, spun information to the positive side without reporting anything that might result in bad PR. I wanted in-depth information, not superficial press releases.
I checked MHR regularly each week of the 2008 season to get my hookups with the bikini threads and info about the games. I LOVE the weekly analysis of the matchups we face. It really helps me watch the game with a more informed eye.
I published my first fanpost right after Shanny was fired, because I was concerned Cutler was handling the transition in an immature manner. My prescience saddens me.
I wish I had the time to invest in some well-researched posts, but I am content for the time being with all of the excellent posts on this site. I am a cautious resident of La-La Land, but I am realistic. I just don’t see a reason to have low morale until the Win/Loss record requires it.
I stop by Horvil Tiki once in a while, because I find him entertaining, but MHR is my only source for Broncos news and commentary (or my first source, if I’m reading Horse Tracks).

Great idea for a post!
For us ‘newbies’ and moreso, to see how the more ‘seasoned’ bloggers here came to know/ be here.
But alas, I, did not find this site until the fiasco in April because DB.com, like Harv just mentioned, was pretty sparse and one-sided….and ironically a poster on db.com put up the link to MHR and woohoo!
All the main reasons have already been mentioned, so ditto to those, but in addition, it’s tough being a fan in Kansas, with no one of my degree/caliper of fan-dom (especially for the same team) to regularly talk football, let alone no reliable sources to update – so yeah, Horse Tracks is always my first internet stop o’ the day!
Good to read all these reasonings!!!! Again, thanks for the post Jon!
First team to three consecutive SB wins!!!! and then some, right? I think four and we oughtta let someone else have a fair shot : )

read a post by HT, then another, then another…pretty soon I was reading everything. Then replying…then writing my own posts. I love the reasoned but passionate posts and comments. Some of my favorite posters I don’t even agree with but I love to read the opposing view when it’s actually well conceived and articulated. The breath of topics is amazing, then depth of analysis and thought unparalleled.

I discovered MHR late in the 2006 season...
At the beginning of the season it looked like we were well on our way to the Super Bowl—by the last few weeks of the season—things obviously soured.
Within fifty days after not playing the playoffs, both Williams and Nash are dead.
At the time MHR was just an experiment. A step outside my normal ‘check-up’ on the Broncos which continued to be mainly Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. Keep in mind that I had no idea that the ‘comments’ after the article, were something to read.
Somewhere between 2006 and into the 2007 season I decided to venture into this ’ comment thing’ and registered at Denver Post. I jumped into the foray and tried to do a little humor with a positive spin on what they were being so negative about. I would like to say that I don’t remember what ensued, but I do, I’m not going to go into it…..I got thrashed, and trashed….got called an idiot (the only compliment of that experience) and much worse. I swore then that I would never again venture into this ‘comment’ thing. You younger people have no idea how ‘new’ this ‘computer thing’ is to some of us older guys.
The taste in my mouth for DP was bad. in fact my taste for this whole ‘internet thing’ was bad…but I still loved the Broncos. I wondered back to MHR, began reading the posts, and then glanced at comments.
I have to be be the longest ‘lurker’ to have ever read posts at this site before he joined.
Glad I did…I love you fellow Bronco Fans.
