"The One"

Fairy Tale???

The owner of the once great team was sad and had but one thing to say to the "Mighty Coach";  "I am quite sure that a man of your intelligence will see that there can only be one outcome to this affair. It is necessary that you should withdraw. You have worked things in such a fashion that we have only one resouce left. It has been an intellectual treat to me to see the way you have grappled and chained the fans of La La Land to dispair". That mighty coach was taken from his throne and cast into the sea of unforgiveness.

And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people of La La Land called BroncoNation, having lost their head coach, their initiative, and their will to defend their team, chose as their Supreme Leader that person known as "The One".

He emerged from the vapors with a system and scheme that was hard to understand; but He mesmerized the owner telling him, "I am sent to save the team. My lack of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego,
and my association with evil doers are of no consequence. For I shall save your franchise with a new system and scheme.

Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the Kingdom of La La Land that he who preceded me was inept, that he has destroyed the team, and that all the defensive players he has assembled must be waived or cut."  And the fans rejoiced, for even though they knew not what "The One" would do, he had promised that his new "system"  was going to be great; and they believed.

And "The One" said "We have the greatest football team in the world. Let me change everything about it!"

And the fans said, "Hallelujah!  Change is good!"

Then He said, "We are going to get rid of the rich fat-cat players who have never contributed to the cause.

" And the fans said "Get rid of them!" "They have caused our grief".

"And redistribute their wealth through Free Agency."

And the fans said, "Show us the money!"

And then He said, "Fixing the offense is good for the whole team." "We will rid ourselves of a problem QB". "We will trade him to one of our allies for a King's ransom".

And Joe the bronco fan asked, "Are you kidding me? You're going to trade our Franchise QB and give him to the Bears??" And "The One" ridiculed and
taunted him, and Joe's personal character and fan sincerity was attacked and criticized.

Many MSM reporters asked, "Isn't it a bad policy to trade your Franchise QB?" They began to ridicule the "One" for his brazen behavior. And it came to pass all the reporters were banished from the kingdom of Dove Valley for ever!

Then a fan asked, "With no Franchise QB and having a star WR wanting to be traded, how will you deal with
opposing team's defenses?" "We are doomed to the cellar for sure now", cried one fan. "We are the laughing stock of the NFL", cried another fan.

And "The One" said, "Not to worry it is simple,  I shall teach this new QB all the knowledge that I know
and show them how great he really is; we will score more points with my system, and they will forget that they
ever wanted to fire me!"

And the fans said, "Hallelujah!! We are back to being a great team at last, and we can rejoice again for the new QB is good!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall give a great RB from the draft to score more points."

And one, lone voice said, "But we are supposed to be drafting defensive players."

So "The One" said, "Then I shall give you a defensive player with the second pick!"

And the fans said, "Hallelujah!! We're fixing the front seven!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall trade our first round pick next year for a second round this!"

And the fans beat their desks and scratched their heads and said, "What"?.

And He said, "I shall draft other players to fit the need as they are available. And I shall give every
player the opportunity to compete for a position."

And the fans said, "Give the "One" a chance he is doing a great job!"

Then he said, "I shall do everything I can to get our team ready to win."

And the fans said, "Where's our WR?"

Then "The One" said, "He is supposed to be here, but we will train with who is here."

And the fans said, "He is dirty, he is evil, no new contract until he shows us he has changed! We don't care if he ever plays for us again."

So "The One" said, "Not to worry. If new offensive system and scheme work, and the players gel in this new system our troubles are over!"

Then He said, "I have selected our starting QB but he will still have to compete for his job. He will posess many new skills that will let him be greater than the other one we fed to the bears. Let's use the players that are here who want to be a part of this great team and not lose focus on our goals ..."

And the fan said, "Hallelujah!!" We have our QB at last!

And so it came to pass that fans, facing a new season with a team spiraling out of control
and not having a "Face of the Franchise", raised their hands in disbelief and murmured amongst themselves.
Others simply gave up and went over to another team saying "This is not our team anymore", and
like unto a rock dropped from the kingdom of La La Land forever. The languished fans searched everywhere for comfort and support, but none was found. The MSM made things worse for these fans with their doomsday reports coming across the airwaves on a daily basis. And more of the fans
were without a means of support and accurate reporting. Only in La La Land was there a solace feeling to give the "One" a chance to prove his worthiness.

Then "The One" said, "I am the "The One" - The Head Coach - and I'm here to save this franchise and win the Super Bowl! We shall train, and train hard to get to this place in history, and nothing can stop us!"

But the MSM said unto Him, "Wait a minute. Your Franchise QB is playing elsewhere and your star WR wants a trade, this team has no 'face' about it anymore..." How dare you make such accusations, you the "One" are young and you have distroyed any hope for this franchise.

And the fans of La La Land said, "Wait a minute. That is unfair!!"

And the true believers of La La Land said, "Neither are these other idiotic analyst you have embraced. Lo, you have been duped in believing their lies and have become a second-rate fan of the Kingdom. Now you shall know the truth, and you the second-rate fan will be reinstated into La La Land!"

And the second-rate fans cried out, "Alas, alas!! Why have we waited so long in coming to La La Land?" We should have been here long ago, now we are enlightened to the truth.

But yea verily, the second-rate fans were reunited with the gifted ones of La La Land. The second-rate fans became "Fans" again, and they spat upon the MSM and stoned them, and their name was dung. And the once mighty
MSM was no more; and the once down-trodden second-rate fan who were without
sustenance or shelter or hope, started to realize that the change to "The One" had given them a new hope, a new shelter, and a new sustenance to live for, and like a whirlwind these new fans deleted their MSM favorites that they had saved. This seemed to work for them, but some were lured back out of the old habit and desire to be misinformed. There are always the select few that can never be completely saved from themselves, they will venture back into the MSM Forest of Dispair.

And it came to past the fans beat their chests in new found inspiration and cried out for joy, "Give us back the trophy we have waited some long for!!"  Now it came to past that, this rebuilt team went out and trained, and they trained, and they gelled together as one player all thinking and executing the same. "We will make the fans of La La Land proud of us, for we have trained hard, and we believe in this new system that the "One" has taught us, and we will win"!!

You may think this is a fairy tale, but it's not. Rebuilding this team was a necessary evil that had to be done, and our fate is in the hands of the "One". We here in the Kingdom of La La Land have suffered long enough and it is time for the "One" to make us happy again. It's happening RIGHT NOW !!! Don't be left out when the gates close, come in and enjoy the freedoms and winning spirit that goes along with La La Land!!! 13-3 Baby!!!

I hope this fantasy story will help you this week to get through the lull of football boredom. Thanks to all for your great FanPosts and support to a great sports venue, MHR. I have never been so anxious for a season to start, this off-season has been one of the most trying and frustrating for us fans to endure.

Poll
Do we take that trip to La La Land and be proud of who we are? Or do we stay in the MSM "Forest of Dispair"?
I for one am already on board and live in La La Land.

The "One" has made way too many mistakes for me to be in La La Land.

I remember reading about a man who had lost everything he had,

and he set down in a pile of ashes and cried aloud…“Why me, why me”? Then all of a sudden he was shown the reasons why he was going through the situation he was going through, and thought to himself…“If I just sit here crying, and do nothing to improve myself I’ll never achieve anything” So, that man rose up from that pit of ashes he was wallowing in, dusted himself off and decided to make the necessary changes in his life to make himself better. And he did…All that he had lost was restored to a point to where he had to give some of it away.

Rise up from that pit of ashes and make yourself better…

This is my favourite part

Only in La La Land was there a solace feeling to give the “One” a chance to prove his worthiness.

And the word of the 'One'

Was spread to all the lands of the earth. And all the believers knew the word to be True,
and swore alligience to the people of La La Land, and built shrines within the places they dwelled, lest they forget . 13-3.
Great post bfree.

WOW !! and again I say, WOW !!

bfree, you have really out-done all of you previous writtings, this post is truly a clasic !! This link will be saved to this ‘favorite post’ folder I keep.

I love the support you build for, “The One.” I love the way you describe us optimist (and I hope I read this right) as the fans with open minds, ready to give ‘The One’ a chance, ready to see what is actually happening, ready to stand and be there for those innocent (‘mushed-to-negative-only-thoughts’ slaves of the MSN) and explain that the truth is not at the end of the tunnel—the light is right in front of you if you just open your eyes………open your eyes!

As we near ‘Training Camp’ (with reality closing in) this is such a special (and important to this site) post of an optimist.

Funny us optimists, why can others not see that we are the ‘ones’ with the open minds?

This Post needs the ‘BattleCry’ and the Banner !!

Thanks for the ‘Fairy Tale’ bfree……………this post is special………..

I'm glad you liked it Mike and a little satirical humor to start the week.

I was on board with McDaniels system and scheme just after picking up Brian Dawkins, I thought he knocked it out of the park when he got him. True leadership and I believe still has a little gas in the tank. Then it got better and better with the picks we got, all smart, tough, team first attitude, and good character. I am honored to be a part of La La Land…13-3 Baby!!!

Dissapointed

I kept reading expecting the “…and there was a great gnashing of teeth…” Alas, I am either unworthy or the author has been flayed about the head too many times.

I don’t want breakaway speed. I want break-some-poor-fool-as-I-bowl-you-over power getting 6 yards off a play that should have been stopped for 2 at most.

by sadaraine on Jun 23, 2009 5:22 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

sadaraine I was gnashing my teeth for the last 3 years under the prior coach.

I was never so relieved about anything then when Pat said, I’ve had enough. He patty-caked with him hoping that he would actually make something happen and it didn’t. I was disappointed for 3 years of the same old same old, it gets tiresome after awhile. I am very excited with the changes that have been made, even though at first I had my doubts, and like most on here had stated, maybe we should of taken Steve Spagnuolo. After F/A and the way the coach handled the draft, I have a feeling there is something big for us on the horizon. No gnashing of teeth here, sorry…13-3 Baby!!!
