Denver Broncos officially rebuilding
Bleacher Report has a quality analysis that provides insight into our attitudes after the coaching change and how our resistance to change was an obstacle to improving the team.
Good stuff!

Good catch, Colinski
Very nice article with a realistic, mature yet supportive approach. Thanks for the link.

Burson on our attitudes -- having our Kool-aid and eat it, too
He hits it out of the park on this. We (and I include myself) were merely guessing that change would — ironically — include no real changes.
I’ve said this before, was it the fear of change that scared us or was it the fact that McX didn’t share our Kool-aid induced view of the team? The Kool-aid issue rears its head again here, but the drinkers appear to have been everyone that thought that the so-called untouchables on this roster were essential to our success.
The Cutler issue revealed something about attitudes. Was the team’s success threatened by the loss of a franchise QB or was it our rosy worldview that was threatened? What most people don’t realize is that situations that produce the most dissonance are the ones that we cling to the hardest. The boy that points out that the emperor has no clothes is attacked rather than applauded for his enlightening contribution.

Dig it.
That’s about as sensible an analysis as I’ve seen outside MHR.

Normally Bleacher Report doesn't impress me, but this article changed my perception of that site a lil bit. ;-)
Good catch.

Rob Burson
BR is where, Burson — who’s only posted a few times — is who. He’s done a good job, and I’m not disagreeing with you over what BR is like normally.

old news, really
when you bring in the maximum-allowed new players by nfl rules, turn over nearly the entire fo and coaching staff, change the paint and meal plans,… yeah, we’re rebuilding, alright. but i have yet to hear the phrase from the men in charge, as mcd has repeatedly said we are going to “win now”.
this may have set up false expectations, but that’s on him, really. i say he has 2 years to make the playoffs, or he’s likely gone. maybe 3, if there is a steady improvement and a patient fanbase. i’m not counting on the latter, though, after this offseason. let’s hope for some health and good fortune in the next few seasons, we are due, really. aren’t we? is the curse of hocculi over, now?
