You gotta go see...
So I went to the movies the other night and saw one of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life. "The Hangover". I am a fan of great comedic movies and this one is flat out great. You guys have to see this movie. If you have seen it, let me know what you think. After the movie, I got to thinking what were my all time favorite comedies. "The Hangover" is definitely at the top of the list now. I think the thing that makes it so great is the whole movie is laugh out loud, and on top of that, the last 2 minutes of the movie is the funniest part.
This has been done here before but it's been a while. Here is my top 5 list in no particular order. I hate to do only 5 movies because I am leaving so many good ones out. Also, my mind will change tomorrow and I would have to take 1out to add another. But I'll keep it to 5 to save time. I would love to see your top 5.
The Hangover
The Jerk
Dumb and Dumber
Old School
Wedding Crashers

Top 5 in no order:
1.Wedding Crashers
2.Old School
3.Anchorman
4.The Hangover
5.Zach and Miri Make A Porno
I’m a fan of over the line humor. The stuff that makes you cringe almost, which is exactly why Zach and Miri is on there.

Based on your list.
have you seen Grandma’s Boy? It’s underrated, but it’s seriously one of the best comedies that’s come out in the last few years.

I liked Grandma's Boy.
I don’t like Adam Sandler’s crews movies though. I can’t stand those guys he works with.

The Jerk is a classic.
Young Frankenstein
Neighbors was great. Me and my buddies were the only ones laughing during the whole movie. Finally, I told the audience that “Hey, this IS a comedy!”

In no particular order...
Monte Python and the Holy Grail – I could add several other Monte python movies but I’ll stick with this one.
Blazing Saddles “No one move or the N***** gets it” at the time it was the most outragious movie line ever. I could list other Mel Brooks but one is enough.
Dogma!!! Chris Rock rocks – several other Kevin Smith movies could qualify.
Naked Gun, or Airplane, or Police Squad, or….any of those Leslie Nielson movies.
Happy Gilmore

Really good post while we wait for camp. Go broncos!!!
I loved The Hangover and I am getting ready for my bachelor party so it totally got me fired up. However, I’m not quite ready to put it in the top 10. It may end up there. It may even end up in my top 5, but . . . I’m taking a wait and see approach. The Mike Tyson thing was lame but the rest of it might just be good enough to get it over the hump. However, for now, it’s just on the outside looking in.
TOP 10 comedies of all time:
1) Dumb and dumber
2) Anchorman
3) Wedding Crashers
4) The Big Lebowski
5) MP & Holy Grail

I haven't been much into 'Comedies' for several years now....but I used to be...I'll try to think
I wish I could remember the exact titles of an, “Abbott and Constello” movie, I kinda can…yet can’t. Therefore I have to sadly put Abbott and Constello aside for a moment….even though they were the funniest of all time.
Wow!! This is really hard. Funny, when I was young, Comendy was not ‘shock’ it was ‘thought’ … funny was something happening before you as you compare it to your life. Funny was funny back then because it was, ‘real life real’ and not a wierd shock.
I’ll give you an example of my terrible memory,
Bob Hope gets caught up with Pirates, somehow rescues this cute Blond (I think) yet Crosby….who was never in the Movie…ends up with the girl. That was funny back then.
Anyway, I need to move forward and pick some ‘Funny’ movies (in the modern world) I have seen.
- “Young Frankenstein”
No other movie was quite this unique. Black and white. “What big knockers!” Knife thrust into leg, " I am not Frankenstein!!" Both conflicts win………….what a fun movie.
- “American Graffiti”
I saw this as a late teenager, saw a revival of this after the movie release, and loved this movie. Best part, when the kid riding with the ‘hot-rod’ guy, shaved-cremes the car. Clasic.
- 3 “Mr Mom”
There is something special to me about this movie, not sure what it is, maybe when he overloads the ‘washer’…the ‘washer’ rebels…
Maybe its when he talks his young son into throwing, ‘The Blankie’ into the fire. Loved this movie.
#4
not sure what it is…..very funny movie however.
Funny me……….I’m about to do #4 and (as I do this comment) my brain is clearing as to what I am doing. How did I forget this!!!
#4
The original “Ghost Busters” may be the ‘Funniest Movie’ of all time. When you consider, original thought, brilliant crew, a lot of fun……..and then some more fun.
Man……………I loved this movie !!!
#5
Funny, if you think its funny. I fear for this nation

I have a hard time adding anything to the movies referenced here. I haven’t seen The Hangover, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Two very funny movies that haven’t been referenced so far are Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Beerfest.
I don’t know if either of these would make my Top 5, but they’re both very funny. Just check your hangups at the door before watching.

Dr. Strangelove

The Man Who Knew Too Little
The Pink Panther movies are pretty good, too. Generally, I don’t like comedy that’s super obvious or dumb. Most of the current crop of comic actors are boorrring. I mean people like Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Tom Greene, whose basic comic moves are uttering really dumb lines while mugging for the camera. Orgazmo was also pretty good, altho I didn’t care for the fart jokes.
