I actually don’t consider it to be a “fad” because I believe it has been going on for some time in sports. I believe that the outcome depends on how the management team handles the problem. Some may interpret it differently and think that if the player comes to work and performs:what difference does it make. Since the sports world does not function like the “real world” does, some teams can handle the player not calling and move right along as scheduled: while others may decide to take another route to the issue. Every team and issue is different.
