Interpreting Marshall's Comments

I speak B.Marsh - probably from watching every press conference, bronco-related video clip and article known to man. It's obvious to me what's happening at Dove Valley with regard to B.Marsh. Please allow me to explain.

Facts:

-B.marsh made a trade request

-B.marsh asserted, on his blog, that Mr. Bowlen told him that the broncos would do all they could to accomodate his request. This statement was issued before a second meeting - either in person or through agent Jerry . . . I mean Kenard McGuire . . . after which marshall has quieted down, said he's coming to camp and played coy as to whether he will be with the Broncos.

-JMac is taking the same public tact as he did w/ regard to Jay Cutler - "he's under contract, we expect him to be here and look forward to getting to work." Patriot-speak for "If the right offer comes along, homeboy's gone."

-During his interview on NFL network, B.Marsh spoke of the broncos in the third person, when his guard was down his language seemed to indicate he's got one foot out the door - or at least he thinks he does.

What Happened:

B.Marsh and Bowlen met. B.Marsh said he wanted a new contract or to be traded. Bowlen said they wouldn't give him a new contract until next year and so the organization will do all it can to accommodate his request. B.Marsh then went blabbing on his blog about it. The Broncos called him (probably his agent) and told him that he was undermining their bargaining position, to shut up, say he'll show up to camp and they will do all they can to get value for him in a trade. He thinks he's getting traded and I guarantee the broncos would pounce on a full-value offer.

What will happen:

I hate to break it to B.Marsh but, we are not going to get full value for him and so he will have to "suffer" another year in the confines of the mile high city. If we trade him for less than a first round draft pick or a stud defensive lineman and a second round pick I'm going to be livid.
