In a comment to a fellow MHRer's post earlier this week I preached patience and said that I thought the Broncos would sign all of the remaining rookies before the start of camp. With 9 players to sign - including 2 first-rounders and 3 second-rounders, and five days to do it, I am now in full panic mode. We had seven picks in the first 4 rounds - presumably guys who are to see the field this season (Moreno, Ayers, Phonso, McBath, Quinn, Bruton and Olsen - not to mention Brandstater and McKinley in the later rounds).
I mean, I assume we're in negotiations with them all but, dude, 5 days to sign 9 contracts? That is a lot of signage. I hope I'm freaking out for no reason. I hope X get everyone signed by the 26th so we're ready to go by the 27th but, I'm beginning to wonder whether that's going to happen. It's not unlikely at this point that we could have multiple holdouts, a fact I'm sure the players' agents are reminding the broncos of as we speak.
Anybody else worried?
