Horse Tracks 7/24/09 - Broncos sign Olsen, release Grimes

Sorry for the tardiness, folks. I literally collected all the links this morning and closed everything out thinking I was done with Tracks. Somehow, I forgot the whole posting part...and no, I didn't even go out last night. Heck, I even got a big night's sleep. Okay, I'll stop there and keep myself from looking like even MORE of an idiot. Have a great Friday/weekend, everyone!

Late or not, it is still worth the wait.

No worries, NYC
“Late” is extremely subjective. I, for one, feel incredibly fortunate to have you volunteering to do this every day. It’s all a big bonus, another great benefit of MHR, in my book. The effort you put in for your fellow fans on a daily basis is far from an entitlement — it’s a privilege. Thank you!!

NYC you are the best!
My image is the Circa 1960-’61 Broncos home uniform sock. Some what folk lore to me ... but referred to as the clown sock by my Dad.

Thanks for your work, NYC
Not late at all out here in PDT zone!
Thanks
I’ve been known to be a bit of an airhead myself…I’m a smokeless tobacco guy, and as I wandered downstairs yesterday afternoon, I celebrated reaching the main floor with a whopping stream of spit…right onto my own living room carpet— It was like slow motion the second the spitting mechanisim started.
The moral: I probably would flat out forget to post HT if given the timeand rope. It happens to everybody.
I thought the RMI piece was very good— very insightful.
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance-- that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

lmao PO
Nice anecdote! Reminds me about how I occasionally leave a stove burner on. My wife thinks I’m going to burn the place down someday. I hope she’s not right!

nyc, highly appreciated
That’s the latest I’ve seen ever seen them posted – but as stated above – you have NOTHING to feel bad about!
We (and I doubt I am only speaking for myself) have to be some of the most privileged NFL fans, having this site at our convenience!
(Just like Elway said to Us after the first super bowl win – and with the same guttural tinge) “I love you” is quite fitting as long as it is taken in the correct context, which is to mean, like family, not a significant other – LoL… Perpetual thanks!
= )
First team to three consecutive SB wins!!!! and then some, right? I think four and we oughtta let someone else have a fair shot : )

before I came to MHR
I went to DP then to ESPN then to CBS the to Denverbroncos.com just to see if there was any new news out there. You made my life easier no matter what time it gets posted, I appreciate it.

Reading the 3-4 DE article by Brandt was interesting
I noticed that you had Wooton as a legit 5 technique end, and Brandon Graham after that at #5. Then it’s down to Middleton at #13 and CJ Wilson at 18 before you see anyone else with the size that is needed. Some players may have the strength without the size, but they will be exceptions, not the rule. I haven’t looked at DT/NTs yet, but that’s not encouraging as far as a DE portion of the draft.

re: Grimes' cut
We were at 81, once you count all the draftees, so someone had to go before we could enter camp.
BTW — our WR corps is still pretty large, which makes me wonder if we’re going into the season with a high number. And unlike last year, when the depth was illusory, we actually have enough depth to warrant going with a number like, say…. seven.
I see there is a roster challenge going on, HERE. Take a look, the guys at BC have come very close, so they’re clearly not amateurs.

ESPN mentions Denver
How come if I see Denver mentioned by ESPN I just know I am not going to like it?
I think this comment was great.
He [Smith] failed to solidify the nickel spot in the offseason, battling with second-year player Jack Williams for the job. Expect the playmaking Smith to pull away from Williams as camp marches on.
We haven’t even gotten into training camp and Alphonso is already a failure… poor guy.
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.
I didn't know that
Many people still don’t know that……………. and never will.

Favre may need more time?
Wow, what a f-ing surprise there. I would love to see the Vikings say, “Times up Favre, we are going with someone else.”
