First Round May Start Settling into Deals
According to Pro Football talk, Darius Heyward-Bey and Josh Freeman have signed. meanwhile Jason Smith is "very close." With Heyward-Bey signing, we may see the Crabtree situation finally get resolved, paving the way for the rest of the first round to include our very own Knowshon Moreno and Robert Ayers.

Thanks HBT...
Waiting on these guys is starting to irritate.
Get your high priced butts to camp boys…and now!
Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????

I heard on ESPN
That Knowshon Orakapo and the 2 peole drafted behind him are all signed by same agency, so the agency is trying to jack up Morenos $ so the other 3 will get bigger $$$

Sounds unethical

Exhibit A
This is EXACTLY why the NFL needs to address the whole rookie salary issue. This is ridiculous and sets these players back sometimes a whole season if they miss enough camp. Forget about the fact that they’re unproven kids who should be thinking about making the team first.
This is what we wanted...
Hey, look what we got!

Exactly
That way idiots like Crabtree can’t hold everyone else hostage.

1st round thinking about making the team?
1st rounders are guaranteed a spot on the roster. What team would cut a 1st rounder?

Guys, guys, guys!
Its not the rookies fault that they’re not signed. You have to place the blame at the feet of their agents. These agents are the main reason the NFL needs a rookie wage scale.
I would wager that KM and Rob Ayers are chomping at the bit to get into camp. But their agents are trying to secure good money for their own livelihood, so when next year comes around, they can sell themselves to incoming rookies by showing them how well they took care of previous clients.
Remember, the players change every year, yet the agents (and agencies) stay the same, and we always run into the same predicaments…holdouts.

I know that...but it is also in the players court to tell the agents to get it done!
Remember, the agents work for the rookies, not vice versa…..Knowshon and Robert need to be driving this thing, not the other wya around!

Also, the teams generally could be more pro-active. This is the side of the sport that kills me.

Overreaching
Yes. But these are kids seeing the first big money of their lives. They are putting overreaching trust in their agents.
All this could be avoided by the NFL agreeing to impose rookie caps.

True, the agents work for the players...
…but they also work for themselves. Agents are just overhyped lawyers at the end of the day, and we all know what drives them.

Rookie player's
contracts should have a voiding clause in there if they don’t make the team. I bet THAT would change their perspective.
It's Orange Crush time. And no I am NOT talking about the soft-drink.
Which I beg the question: "Can liquid really be... soft?"
