Holy Wow!
Mike Klis expects us to go 9-7 at least… and that was just the cherry on top of a largely positive article… repent, the end is nigh!!!

dang it
I thought I had a few more years of fun and debauchery…

Do we have a timeline?
I mean, do I need to fit in all the debauchery in one night? Two? Do we have through camp? Regular season? I need to schedule!

I suppose that it depends entirely on whether you're the debauchee or the debautcher....

Good morning, NYC
Thanks for Horse Tracks. I check it every day. Thought I’d mention that the story on McDaniels by David Ramsey of the Boston Herald is pretty good (although he disses Orton and Simms, sort of).
The sage is full of anxiety and indecision in undertaking anything, and so he is always successful.

Thanks Nyc
Lots of Goodies today. I’m looking forward to going to training camp tomorrow.

The 13th and 19th overall picks have signed so Denver has a starting point and salary floor to move the negotiations forward. Xanders should be able to get Ayres and Moreno signed right quick.
Love the Broncos, don't like their Coach.

lets hope
I hope they can negotiate upwards than having to go downwards. It may be just me but I wouldn’t put it past Al to sign his pick overly high hoping to squeeze Denver who he knows has two picks.
This year has been a joke regarding the first round signees.
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.

LOL
Not laughing at the Davis paranioa, but with it. It reminds me of my dad. He grimaces at the mere uttering of the sound ‘Al Davis’ and probably secretly blames him for the Khmre Rouge, 9/11, and the excessive Michael Jackson coverage.
I actually once sent Davis a fawning letter ‘from’ my dad seeking a signed picture…but alas, to no avail. Al didn’t help.

I think it is because he has all Broncos fans under surveilance.

Jokeland Faders
Idiotic! That’s all I can say about Davis giving Heyward-Bey a 20% raise over last year’s no.7 pick. With every other team complaining about high rookie salaries, rookies having to be held out of camp because their agents haven’t negotiated their contracts, no cap structure for rookies, teams with high draft picks being saddled for years with huge financial obligations to unproven rookies, geez… The list goes on.
The league and players union need to impose a rookie salary cap.

The Devil's Advocate
I can’t believe I’m defending the Raiders, but they have a QB on the brink of disaster and relentless criticism over drafting Bey over Crabtree. Maybe they recognized that, in the best interest of Bey, Russell and the franchise, it was imperitive to get the kid to work on time and give him the best chance to succeed. If he succeeds, Russell has a better chance of getting over the hump, etc. It seems possible, at least, that the Raiders motives were pure on this one. Why should they care what everybody esle ‘has’ to pay their picks?

Slippery Slope
You raise a good motivation for their behavior. But it creates a standard of rookie pay that affects other rookie agreements. The Raiders just don’t care how the rest of the league is affected. Yet it is undeniable to me that they have recklessly and negatively affected the rookie signings.

What if McD said, at his next presser:
We haven’t signed KM because his demands might screw things up between Houston and Cushing? We’re happy to pay him, but we’re not the only team in the NFL…
We’d go nuts.

Good Point
But my point is that there needs to be a rookie salary cap.

No doubt
But I can’t be critical of any team playing by the rules at hand, and things are a little desperate in Oakland.

True
but it also will affect rookie salaries NEXT year including the picks of the Raiders.
Tighten the noose a little bit more around their necks…of course Davis doesn’t mind, he’s been dead for years…
