Last minute thoughts as the Broncos prepare to hit the field

Mhr_trainingcamp_2009_medium

Good Morning from the media room deep inside Broncos Headquarters in Englewood, CO.  With about 45 minutes to go as I write this, a few loose ends to wrap up.

First, Robert Ayers did not get his deal done in time to start practice this morning.  Ayers is hoping to have a 5-year contract done some time today.  It has been reported that the 17th pick - QB Josh Freeman - was signed by the Buccaneers so that bodes well for Ayers to get signed in the near future, with League approval, of course.

The news is not so promising, right now at least, on RB Knowshon Moreno.  Apparently Moreno isn't within 1,000 miles of Denver, working out back in Georgia.  Where a player physically is located is always a good indication of where things stand in negotiations.  If Knowshon gets on a plane and heads to Denver, things are looking good.  Until then, well....

That's all for now.  Thanks for all the suggestions on what to look for.  I'll try to answer all your questions.  For up-to-the-minute updates, make sure to follow MHR on Twitter!!

Sorry

I know the news wasn’t so great…but the players are about to take the field, and I got excited. Sorry everyone!

So is Ayers in Denver?

Is he ready to go just waiting on the final details, and will he be available for the afternoon practice?

It said in the Post the other day that he has a place near the facility, and was just waiting for the deal to get signed. That was a couple days ago, but I would assume it’s still true.

Hungry Hungry Hungry

The Denver Post tweeted that there is no tweeting allowed from the field. Were you told that, too? By whom? And WHY?

hey guru qick question for you

since you said u are in the media room, have you found that any resentment from the “traditional” media guys since youre a blogger? or have they been in general pretty nice to you?

i ask because i get the sense from listening to the radio that the traditional guys resent the bloggers coming onto their territory. they dont realize that the demand has moved towards the blogs because the content is generally better

YES...

To give you an idea. I was charging my laptop in someone’s spot before they arrived. When I cam back in from the field, my laptop was unplugged and sitting on the floor….Real mature. And they wonder why they are a dying breed…..

Did Marshall show up?

Love the Broncos, don't like their Coach.

by McGeorge on Jul 31, 2009 9:58 AM MDT reply actions

yup

I’m sure you’ve seen by now, but I thought I’d post just in case. Marshall has shown up and is practicing.

The three on the active/PUP list are apparently there and running.

a Kool-Aid commercial on TV. The 1st one I have seen in at least 10 years. Could it be an Omen? =)

History Repeats

The last running back to hold out on the Broncos? Tatum Bell.

But he was drafted in the 2nd round, so it doesn't count.

Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.

I actually feel really bad for the guy...though I couldn't help but chuckle a little.

I'm with ya broncoholic...

It’s hard NOT to chuckle (at least a little) at… I mean he is a Raider after all….

But yeh, that is horrible. That must be one of the few places where it’s actually hard to find a Raider fan?

Alabama….

reeeeeeally late to the party today

but…WOHOOO! Crabtree will you friggin SIGN ALREADY!!

Joe Sakic was pure class, win or lose, at all times.

Hopefully the rest of the 1st round signs regardless....

I could care less if he signs his tender now or not. If we can get a few guys around our picks to sign up, then we should be set.
