unsigned hype
from wat I gather off top my head (thoroughly researched post)...other than Moreno and Ayers, notable 1st Rounders that remain unsigned are: Tyson Jackson (KC), Andre Smith (CIN), B.J Raji (GB), Michael Crabtree (SF), Malcolm Jenkins (NO), Jeremy Maclin (PHI), Percey Harvins (MIN)...can't think of many more...Hicks (NYG), Cushing (HOU) and Wells (ARZ) signed recently...nope, can't really think of anyone else.
Do all the remaining players feel they were drafted lower than justified? Did the combination of Crabtree's "value" and DHB's "victory" get things twisted? What's the dilly?
With regards to Moreno: he was top back in the draft and agent is tryna squeeze. McX has options at RB already, with good news surrounding Torrain, Broncos have support...and other issues that are more pressing...Bmarsh is lookin good ($$), our D needs Ayers more than our O needs Moreno.
Brings us to Ayers...what's reallly goin on there? Like numerous MHR posts have stated, contract verbage and diction shouldn't take this long to correct...I don't recall any reports yesterday praising our OLB's...and almost all depth chart projections show Ayers starting at OLB...he/we/them need the reps.

I think a big wrench in the Moreno deal
is the widely speculated “fact” that he will be starting this year and taking 50% or more of the load. It doesn’t help his case knowing that we have plenty of other running backs that can and will take the job if he doesn’t sign soon, but nonetheless, it’s been taken as gospel that he will start in 2009 making him more valuable in contract terms.

Maybe a few more days of Torrain performing well in camp...
.. may get this “fact” re-evaluated, and a reasonable contract with appropriate incentive clauses will be signed.
I would love for us to enter the season with 2 potential stud RB’s!

I only call it "fact" because that's how it's perceived around the MSM...
I don’t necessarily believe it haha

Oh I think we have 2 stud RB's
Buckhalter looked pretty studly to me in practice and Hillis, well he is more impressive in person than in any pictures that I’ve seen.

The rate of the signings may have alot to do with the divisions that the teams play in. If you are located in the NFC East, you must do everything in your power to get people into camp because the division is so hard to compete in. You can go down one game to your rival and may never catch up. That’s one reason we may move so quickly-when the camps open you need to be there. It’s the toughest division in football for a reason.

I'm sure the entire...
…signing thing seems simpler to us on the outside loooking in.
My ut says to sign him to a deal that is contingent on how much he starts. But clearly there is more to it than that, or they would have done it.

usually along the lines of “Hey, you missed something” or “where’s my front third?”
