Denver Broncos @ San Francisco 49ers: A Q&A with Fooch at Niners Nation

Milehighreport_mediumHey Mile High fans, this is Fooch from Niners Nation.  Your fearless leader John Bena braved the waters of Niners Nation all day yesterday providing answers to the numerous questions 49ers fans have.  I've been traveling the last few days but am finally settling back in San Francisco tomorrow afternoon.

The last meaningful game between the 49ers and Broncos was New Years Eve 2006.  The 49ers were a team on the rise behind an improving Alex Smith and they pulled off the overtime road shocker, knocking the Broncos out of the playoffs.  My how things have changed.  Alex Smith is battling for a job, Mike Nolan is now running the Broncos defense, and the 49ers are once again hoping to build on a late season surge in the subsequent year.

As with many "improving" teams (or rebuilding, or previously awful), the 49ers have a lot of areas where they're hoping to find some answers early in the preseason.  The highest profile is the battle for the starting quarerback.  However, there are numerous other battles 49ers fans will be keeping an eye on including the starting right tackle, a key backup offensive tackle, the left defensive end, the #2 cornerback and the plethora of wide receivers on the roster.

I'll be traveling between 11 and 3pm but will get answers posted before and after that (well into the week), so fire away.  Also, if you feel like providing a little insight at Niners Nation, head on over to John's FanPost.  Also, feel free to Rec this up to it stays near the top this week.
