Horse Tracks 8/11/09 - Ryan Harris to miss Friday's game

DB - Day 11 Blog - Zach Eisendrath
Wes Woodyard returned to practice, while Ryan Harris left with some sort of injury. More big plays from Andre' Goodman and a solid day from Matt Prater.
DB - Day 11 Sights and Sounds - Broncos TV
Some great footage, including some nice runs by Peyton and Knowshon.
DP - Right tackle Harris injures shoulder, to miss 49ers game
Ryan Harris hurt his right shoulder yesterday. Although he will miss Friday's game, he may practice before then.
DB - Running with the Firsts - Gray Caldwell
The first depth chart was released yesterday without any major surprises. For me, most unexpected was seeing Nate Swift as a second-team WR. Meanwhile, the players are looking forward to hitting opponents rather than teammates on Friday.
DB - Day 11: McDaniels - Broncos TV
Josh McDaniels says the team will install a game plan similar in volume to the regular season to give the players the proper experience. He notes that the TEs have many responsibilities, and Richard Quinn will see lots of playing time on Friday to move him along.
DB - Day 11: Moreno - Broncos TV
Knowshon talks about his first practice at the Big IF.
DP - Prater can't relax even as lone kicker in camp - Jeff Legwold
Not only did he blow up at Matt Prater on the sidelines of the home loss to Oakland, but apparently Jay Cutler refused to talk it over with the kicker later on. Doesn't sound like Prater will miss Scottie O'Brien, either.
DP - Bruton gets call after Dawkins' hand injury - Mike Klis
David Bruton will be starting in BDawk's spot on Friday night
AP - Baker making most of second chance
AP - Finally in Denver Broncos camp, Belford native Knowshon Moreno looks to make impact
Brandon Stokley is looking forward to hazing Knowshon and making him sing for the team.
AP - Quinn will get his chance to impress Broncos
DP - Foley deserves spot on Broncos' stars
Irv Moss profiles the Broncos all-time leading interceptor, Steve Foley.

Kenny McKinley and Josh Barrett got a little chippy with each other yesterday.
ESPN Insider - Denver Broncos look to rise of Eddie Royal and Ryan Clady in 2009 - ESPN
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders expects Eddie Royal to have a big season. Schatz attributes Royal's low YPR (10.8) to the fact that almost half of his receptions were made within 5 yards of the LOS. Meanwhile, Wes Welker was the only WR with more than 100 targets to have a higher catch rate. Schatz is concerned that Andre' Goodman is inconsistent, pointing to a poor 2007 campaign. Of course, those were the 1-15 Dolphins...

Another gem from Pork Chop - "If Orton doesn't improve, fans are going to get increasingly impatient with him."

Good Morning nyc, Thank You for all you do on Horse Tracks...
Real Power, comes with the realization that One cannot change the Moment;
only ones perception of it: Atitude! JQM
Thanks NYC
I liked some of Mike Kliss’ answers today. It’s nice how he is actually realistic about the broncos record and not just jumping on the negative MSM bandwagon like everyone else. He makes some simple points that everyone else is missing “The Broncos should have one of the NFL’s five-best offensive lines and top five secondaries this year. Their defense will be enormously improved merely by switching to the 3-4 and by employing a more attacking, physical style”
Thanks NYC!
