Matt Bowen really hit Marshall the Head

Short and sweet article from Bowen about the Marshall…If he is in fact still playing his games with McD, he needs to rethink is strategy, grow up, change his childish attitude, and join his teammates on the field…As McD might say, he’s way behind and has got alot to learn…

by BroncoSense72 on Aug 12, 2009 6:20 AM MDT reply actions

From what I’m reading, Marshall had MAJOR hip surgery on March 31, a surgery that requires 6-12 months of recovery time. We are not even at five months yet.

He MAY actually be working through some kinks in his recovery. I’m not an expert on hip injuries, but I image a fully functioning hip is rather important to WR.

Bowen was too harsh downplaying what appears to be a significant injury and one BM playe thru last season on his way to starting in the Pro Bowl and making 104 catches.

Love the Broncos, don't like their Coach.

I agree with you

To the extent that he MAY be just working through the kinks of his recovery, but BM has PS history with lack of participation…Also, if he he had not already been posturing for much of the off-season, I would definately agree with you that Bowen was being too harsh…

I did quantify my comment with “if” so please don’t misunderstand that I would want him out there before he is healthy and is able to contribute his talent to the Team because we certainly need him…I actually hope you’re right and that that is the only reason he isn’t out there…

And, I’ll also admit that I MAY be being a little impatient as well…

Simms

said Marshall is rehabbing a hamstring tweak, not a hip problem.

And the sense I got

when McDaniels indicated they were giving Brandon time to work through a personal issue as that he needed time to prepare for his trial.

Of course, they’ve been referring to injuries as personal issues, as well. So who knows.

Morning NYC

Not sure it was ripping… more like an annoyed aside.

agree with you there

and even if it was an aside, I’d hate to be in the shoes of somebody that Josh McDaniels outright rips. = )

Agreed.

He simply made a comment and he is right. Players and coaches are held accountable, I guess the media doesn’t think they are.

McDaniels and company were considering drafting Chris baker in the middle rounds?
A nose tackle has considerable value to a 3-4 defense. The Broncos had considered drafting Baker in the middle to late rounds, but character issues forced him to slide past the seventh and final round.

“That’s probably a fair assessment,” he said.

What a value then, so what he likes to fight at least that’s better than drugs or girl friend beating. He will need 3-4 to really come into his own, 3 years down the road he may be the beast.

by bfree2bronc on Aug 12, 2009 11:14 AM MDT reply actions

The annoying thing is, if why’d drafted him in the 4th round, the pundits probably would have ranked the Broncos’ draft much, much higher.

by Chibronx on Aug 12, 2009 1:18 PM MDT up reply actions

4th?

heck if we’d drafted him in the 2nd they would have said it was a reach, but we couldn’t pass up the only true NT in the draft.

by SlowWhiteGuy on Aug 12, 2009 1:49 PM MDT up reply actions

I'm not so sure

Wasn’t he sticking up for a friend in those fights? I mean, its one thing to defend yourself or have somebodies back. But I don’t think he was picking those fights. When I got his autograph in camp, I talked with him a bit while I waited for his signature, and he seemed like a lovable puppy dog to me, real polite and easy going. I truly believe he is out to rectify any bad issues with his image. I think he will make the final roster and do as well a job as any other rookie D Lineman in the league.
