More Cluelessness From a Man Named Jamie Dukes
Whenever I see the words Denver Broncos tagged in a Jamie Dukes post, I know two things. One, nothing can be positive about it. Two, it's lacking conventional wisdom and filled with assumptions that honestly make no sense. Case in point:
Jamie Dukes earlier today wrote an article on moves he liked and didn't like in the off-season. His disclaimer on his twitter page was I DON'T HATE YOUR TEAM!!!!! Mature Jamie... Very mature. Now it doesn't take a genius to know that it wouldn't be positive. I dared to click the link to article and braced myself for the worst.
"Denver Broncos – In moving past the Jay Cutler situation, I’ve been interested in the possible departure of Denver’s second-best player, WR Brandon Marshall. According to reports, Marshall has been demoted on the depth chart. Injured Pro Bowl starters generally don’t get moved down the depth chart, and this seems like another petty attempt to demoralize the lone remaining natural offensive leader. By definition, natural leaders are vocal players whose game is so strong other players follow them. This latest attempt to get under the skin of Marshall surpasses another incident earlier this year. Josh McDaniels revealed to Marshall that before he would give him a new contract, he needed to get to know Marshall — which I think is totally reasonable. Marshall replied the best way to do that would be to talk man to man. Marshall intimated that given his body of work, he still felt a new contract was in order. An agitated McDaniels responded that he was having trouble getting past Marshall’s “rap sheet.” While I confess the comment was clever, the Broncos need Marshall. Like him or not, Marshall has that natural leadership dynamic — on and off the field — that players gravitate to." - Dukes
Natural Leadership??? WTH???
It's needless to say that Dukes maed a foolish comment that he did backtrack on later in the day on his Twitter page. He said that natural leaders are not vocal and by saying that natural leaders are usually vocal, he really meant they weren't. Wait... wah???
That's the point.
He then began to list off vocal leaders versus natural leaders. Vocal leaders according to him are traditional leaders like: "Manning, Lewis, Brady, McNabb, Brees, Rivers, etc..." I'm not going to spend my time arguing with him over Rivers so I am going to move on...
He then expressed what natural leaders were: "Patrick Willis, Eli Manning, Jay Cutler, Randy Moss, T.O, etc..." Apparently these leaders lead by their play.
So now are you ready for the correction? A NATURAL LEADER IS A LEADER WHO DON'T NEED TO LEARN HOW TO LEAD!!! THEY KNOW HOW TO NATURALLY!!! Or at least that is my take on it.
So going out and calling Brandon Marshall, who by the way is on trial this Thursday, a leader is misinformed and stupid. Also, isn't it funny that Dukes ignored that McD said the only reason that Marshall was low on the depth chart is because of that trial itself? Oy...
Thanks for listening to my rant lol. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way.

As a non voting member of the ruling class, I hereby ban the words “Jamie Dukes” from ever appearing in another MHR related post.
;-) He is what we call a “troll”. He is inciting anger in order to get hits on his various stories. Ignore him and he will find some other team to piss off.

I'm with you Zappa, he isn't worth the time.

That's the meanest
thing I have ever heard someone say about PeeWee. Don’t disrespect him by tying him to “my leadership got me evicted from my country club membership.” Seriously, how much of a jerk do you have to be to get kicked out of a Denver golf club when you are the QB of the Broncos? Poor PeeWee.

Dukes just isn't worth the time and effort
Don’t take the bait. Don’t be like the 12,000 followers (yes, 12K freaking followers!) who think this guy actually brings any credibility to the table.
Dukes is a troll. A complete troll. I don’t know if you saw him trying to bait Rod Smith and B-Marsh during their respective NFLN studio appearances but it was apparent that Dukes’s job was to throw them off their rails with unsubstantiated drivel. I can assure you that he has never taken the time to pick up the phone and have a discussion with McD to get his input on the matter.

My Biggest Problem Is....
He completely ignores the facts and makes stuff up! He mentions the “reports” that Marshall was “demoted”. First off, as a former player, he should know a depth chart in August means nothing. Hell, a depth chart at any time means nothing.
Secondly, McDaniels addressed the move specifically stating that Marshall won’t be in San Francisco so he moved the players that will be playing up on the depth chart. Remember, McD comes form the Belichick school. The NFl wants a depth chart each week, they’ll get one, and it will follow the letter of the law.
The guy doesn’t like McDaniels and will do and say anything, even if it is devoid of facts, to push his agenda….

That's what I was trying to imply, but you did it more clearly.
It’s the making crap up that enrages me. He is a troll with a TV camera to broadcast from.

Maybe
Atlanta got stomped so many times by New England while he played that he can’t….
Wait, i’m not going to even finish that sentence, the guy says completely retarded stuff about almost every topic. I watched NFLTA today for the first time in like a month or two, and every comment he says just blindsides me with a stupid-stick. I was pleased with the program today though. Rich led the show and both he and Brian were totally against everything Dukes said. But the best part was(I actually started laughing out loud) he was just about to give his side of an opinion and the Network had technical difficulties and moved to commercial sponsors after it froze before he could even get a word out.
Ahahahaha. Makes me laugh again right now. He’ll get what’s coming to him, he already is.

Who is Jamie Dukes?
It seems like to me that between the way he’s covered the Broncos’ McDaniels and the Chiefs’ Haley that he is not one who respects coaches that coach. He acts like coaches owe the players something and not the other way around. He probably wasn’t one who took coaches advice on the field because he didn’t trust them or they were mean to him (two things he’s bashed the two previously mentioned coaches about). We here at MHR know more about what’s going on with our team then he does because we are obsessed and paying attention to them day in and out. Jamie Dukes is far inferior talent to many of the people working at NFLN, DP, and ESPN who take the time to research and bring facts. So I’m going to pull a “Duke” and call it as I see it: JAMIE DUKES IS A MEDIOCRE NFL TALENT WHO SPENT 10 SEASONS (MOSTLY RIDING PINE) THAT NOW BECOME A EVEN MORE MEDIOCRE REPORTER THAT IS NOT MY TIME TO PAY ATTENTION TO.
