Moreno obviously went down with a knee/leg injury. He got hurt on a run, and looks to have reaggrivated it on the interception play.
I know that we will hear "that's why you don't play your starters" -or- we'll hear "we shouldn't practice in pads because we're wearing out the players, and that's when injuries happen"
But did anyone notice that the 1 person who actually got injured today was the 1 person who didn't practice in pads every day for the vast majority of training camp? Maybe practicing in pads and kicking their butts into shape is preventing everyone from getting injured. Remember, if you practice in pads and hit every day, you'll get use to it, so when it's game time, it won't be a sudden shock to your body to get pounded on and wear the extra weight of pads. That doesn't even take into account the flexibility that you lose when you wear pads. Your body needs to adjust to that. It appears that the 1 person who didn't have time to get beat up and adjust is the 1 person who got injured during a game.
I think because of this, we should always practice in pads. Obviously it is working.
