Observations and what I did not observe versus SF.

Well, the defensive line looks a lot better, noticeably more physical than the last three preseasons!   McBean, Fields, Peterson.  Who bcks them up and why?  I loved Chris Baker, and I like Marcus Thomas versatility, but the latter is by no means a lock, he looks no better than Nic Clemons.  Who else? C. Powell, Matt Askew and E Ped are on the bubble.

With the d-line kind of on track, I want to have clarity at the linebacker spot.  Doom (and his understudy, Ayers who will spell Doom), Williams, and Andra Davis (and his understudy, Larsen, who continues to always bring the wood – he was awesome again) look ensconced.  And what about Jack LB?  Is Mario Haggan really the answer?   Is Darryl Reid?  Are Moss and Crowder both doomed to obscurity other than being known as Shanahan draft busts?

Darcel McBath looked good, he covers and HITS, and will they shuffle the safeties and bench the invisible (to me) Renaldo Hill sooner rather than later?

Zo Smith wasn't too short to break up that pass, was he?

We know the returners will be Zo and Kenney and they looked really good.

Hillis was the best back on the field and on the Broncos, by a country mile.  I thought that Lamont Jordan ran looking at the ground, and I don't think they'll need him at all.  I thought Darius Walker looked better.

Tyler Polumbus was an inspired choice at left tackle. His arms are so long the end can't get into his body. On the late TD to McKinley, he made that play, made the end give up! I bet he will back up both tackle positions.
